'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

but back on topic, it would be an amazing feat to get Heaps and still be workin on Scroggins to come here too. If that was to happen, it would really show the nation the power of our staff.

When you gonna start a Bash me thread again...j/k

But i do agree that if we were to get both it would show just how good of recruiters we have here at UT.:)

Sporting News article on Heaps.

Heaps told Sporting News Today that he'd like to be done with the recruiting process by sometime in June. He doesn't have an exact date, but he's pretty sure he'll pick his school by that month. He also said there is a slight chance he may trim his top five of BYU, California, LSU, Tennessee and Washington down one more time so he isn't holding up coaches from recruiting other QBs.

Tennessee -- "Just the whole environment there is amazing. You think you know what SEC football is like, and it's even more unbelievable being there. The fans are really passionate, and they've really put together an all-star staff. When I took my visit, I couldn't believe I was looking across the table at Monte Kiffin, he's such a legend in what he does. They have a pro-style offense that's very USC suited, and it can get you ready for the next level."

If he does trim it will be Cal and LSU

I think you're right. If he is going to stay out West, it will be Washington or BYU. If he goes to the SEC, it will be Tennessee. Cal and LSU seem to be the teams that would be trimmed.

Of course, that's purely speculation on my part.

It will be Tennessee, BYU, or UW. It's going to come down to does he want the best fit & getting ready for the NFL with Tennessee, going to his religion school @ BYU, or staying close to home @ UW.

Each school has their Pro's and Con's: UW is close to home, but not really a program that puts out top recruits. BYU his sister goes there, and it's a Morman school which has it's appeal for him, but he will need to be put around a better cast of players. Also, the competition isn't that good in he WAC. UT is far from home, but the appeal of playing top SEC talent and also being coached by the best coaches that will help him get to the NFL.
