I feel like the in state school should be the only permanent.

Have they announced our permanent opponent and I missed it?
Not even approved 9 game conference schedule yet ,it's on the table I believe, could be wrong though...

If it's approved ,starting 2025 or 2026..

Elvis married a 14 year old Priscilla too.

But my grandpa was 18 and off to the not well known Panamanian war when he married my 14 year old grandma too. They were together until death.

It’s obviously taboo today, but their relationships were happier and lasted longer than ours. Because of that, I’ll just say it was a different time and not cast judgment.
Elvis and Priscilla weren't cousins!!!

If you could choose which legendary sports coaching fixture would retire next, who would it be, and why Geno Auriemma? 🤔
Wrong! Our WBB team isn't very good so who gives a piss about Geno right now. The answer is obviously Kirby Smart. Get rid of him, and suddenly the SEC opens up.

It won't be approved until ESPN agrees to pay more money. No one wants to add an extra conference game unless more compensation is involved.

Are there permanent games anymore? I thought it was a free for all now, no more permanent games?
Correct. No dvisions. Top two teams advance to Atlanta.

That is a horrible way to seed a playoff (SEC 1 vs 2 first round) but... money. 🤷🏻‍♂️

there will permanent "rival" games. There were to be 3, but Saban lobbied all year to drop his games against Tennessee and LSU. Both had beaten him the year before. He was clearly worried that couldn't make the playoffs without an easier schedule going forward. To do that, permanent games would be changed to one. Kelly at LSU was mad about losing their Bama game and was calling to keep the planned 3-rival plan.

Finally Saban just ended the pretense of an independent Birmingham and announced on his own at a press conference that the league was going to do it the way he wanted. Sankey shortly thereafter said the SEC would not release the 3-rival schedule at this time but take more time to "study" the matter. That's where that stands.

So we will likely have Bama, KY, and Vandy. Or only Vandy.

The SEC is implementing a playoff?
No, but the leagues are all keeping their playoffs as prelude to playoff seeding. And then they want to give their winners a first round bye. It would make more sense imo to simply use a regular 1v8, 2v7, etc, arrangement. Expanded playoffs diminish the value of a league playoff, like in basketball and baseball.

Also, I added to my response above. there will be rival game(s), it looks like.
