DEI = Racism

Do DEI policies foster racism? Further do they foster tribalism and division?

I don't know much at all about DEI policies because my employer would never, but it seems like it's one of the top straight white guy complaints in America, so definitely divisive in that sense.

So this is the guy replacing Gay on an INTERIM basis. Compare his CV to hers. In a different galaxy than Gay. The idea that she was somehow the person most qualified for that role is absolutely laughable.

Most qualified person? Be careful, you're going to sound like a racist saying things like that.

DEI Ideology is what gave us “Calling for Jewish genocide might be bad”.

It was all fun and games when it was just straight white guy. But the Oppressor vs Oppressed ideology has completely failed here lately, in spectacular fashion for all to see.

And for good reason. It’s trash.

I just hired hundreds into the federal government. If applicants for a specific location were all male and White nothing out of the ordinary. If that isn't the case your online list has pie charts breaking down race and sex to "help you choose better". I'll try and post a screen grab after vacation. It's part of the federal DEI push.

It is racist and discriminatory

All this whole thing should have done is proven to everyone that academia is a pointless vestige of...something.

I've posted it before- a company I work with actively stopped recruiting Ivy League schools because the kids coming out of those institutions are literally useless. Many, many more universities are falling the same direction.

This stuff also reminds me why I don't take any academic studies seriously anymore. The bar is comically low, and replication- what used to be the "bedrock" for academia or whatever- is not even considered for things to be published nowadays.

“Amidst all of this, it has been distressing to have doubt cast on my commitments to confronting hate and to upholding scholarly rigor — two bedrock values that are fundamental to who I am — and frightening to be subjected to personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus.”
"Animus' is the plural of "animal" in Ivy League circles because it has such a Latin ring to it.
