You’re right I exaggerated that, but apparently they are no different with their backup QB than with Jordan Travis and are still one of the best 4 teams in the country.
Did they lose a game with their backup?

Maybe I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure both Texas and Bama lost a game with their starting QB

Better Players != Better Product

You can put a who’s who of actors together and the resulting movie or show still be trash.

Mets had some of the best players money could buy this year. How did that product look?
Ahh i see you are moving goalposts now. When the facts don’t fit the narrative, move the goalposts to fit the narrative. Love it

Based off what? Their 13-0 conference champ? Maybe it was their elite front with a top 10 defense? Or maybe it was having one of the top RB’s and WR cores in CFB. Yea they suck
I’ve never said they suck. I just said they are not currently one of the best 4 teams in the country right now.

No. I’m not arguing their record, I’m just arguing that they are not one of the best 4 teams in the country right now.

Misinterpreting excitement and chaos for quality isn’t hard.

You may like college better, and that’s fine. But the product on the field isn’t even close to the same

Quality of the players is not synonymous with the quality of the overall product. More goes into the overall product than the individual players.

The NFL is a soulless, amorphous entity. Its major appeal is that you can turn on a game and expect a roughly homogeneous product as background entertainment. Fantasy has been a godsend for getting the general public to consistently watch.

It's that time of year again!
Sounds like a sequel to Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

Based on what? FSU has passed every test since Travis got hurt. We can assume they aren’t one of the four best, but on the field, they’ve done nothing to confirm that assumption. Neither win was a thing of beauty, but Alabama’s wins over pedestrian teams like Auburn, Arkansas, and A&M weren’t things of beauty either.

Eleven Conference Champions, then the next 5 best teams determined by a computer that takes Strength of schedule, overall record and what ever else makes it fair. Turn twelve of the silly Bowls into playoff games. Reduce the season by 1 or 2 games by doing away with the pay to win games and let them play. Simple....Real Champion.

It’s special pleading all the way down.

Joe Milton was 11-21 for 141 against Vandy last year.

He had similar numbers against Clemson, right?
No. But Joe Milton had also thrown more than 118 passes in his 4 year college football career and been the starter at multiple Power 5 programs…Tate Rodemaker, not so much.

Context matters. Not all conferences and schedules are the same. I'll take 4-1 (with one win being UGA and the loss being Texas) vs 2-0 against top 25 teams.

You are kidding yourself if you don't believe the two best teams in the nation weren't playing in Mercedes-Benz Stadium yesterday. To deny that, is just letting your Bama/UGA hate override your rational brain.

As a diehard UT fan, I'd be more upset if I felt UT was a better team being left out vs a "deserving" team which wasn't as good relative to the competition.
Not convinced Bama and Georgia are the two best teams. That's SEC bias on your part. I'm not convinced Bama could beat Texas now, after losing to them already. I'm not sure how Michigan or Washington match up against Bama. Not sure how you can just declare Bama and Georgia are the best when they haven't proven it on the field.
