Yea, so what the team does has no bearing. It’s a terrible message. No one knows exactly what they could have done with a month to prepare.
Well that’s true - who knows what they could have done in a month. A known unknown.

And not saying it’s right - but when the #1 player responsible for a team’s success goes down, it is no longer the same team that racked up the accomplishments.

Doesn’t diminish the accomplishments. But it’s not the same team.

That’s such an airhead observation - The worst NFL team would trounce the best CFB team.

Really??? Thanks, professor…

The NFL is the highest level of football on Earth. The best of the best players from CFB.

But it is far from the best product.
It's whatever a individuals prefer....

If we were in Michigan's shoes, we wouldn't be excited about playing Bama vs FSU without Travis. If we were in Bama's shoes and played Texas OOC, went undefeated in SEC, plus beating UGA at a neutral site in the SEC championship, and 4 top 25 wins, we would rightfully believe we made ought to have one of the 4 slots. Those scenarios should tell us something even if we hate seeing Bama sneak their way in (something we all agree on).

The ironic twist of fate is that the ACC was against expanding the playoffs (which should have happened years ago). I would look for Clemson and FSU to redouble their efforts to leave.

The ACC is a dead conference walking. With Texas and Oklahoma leaving, the Big 12 is in the same boat. We are just a few years away from the SEC and Big 10 expanding once more to pick the carcasses of each dead conference clean, leaving the NCAA, and forming their own governing body.

that defense is responsible as well….. they only allow 16 ppg.

Absolutely, and all on here ok with Fl st being out because the games will be closer would of been losing it.
Anyone being ok with FSU being left out of the CFP should think about how we would feel if UT was the undefeated SEC champ but we limped to the finish line with Gaston Moore at the helm and barely won our conference championship only to be left out of the CFP because the committee felt other teams were healthier and would be better matches for the playoffs.

We would literally be marching with pitchforks. And I literally mean literally.

You can prefer whatever you want. Millions of people bet on and watch it every week. Whatever. I certainly don’t have to. To each their own.

But it’s a really stupid observation. One that I’ve seen a few times here recently. Water is wet level stupid.

Raise your hand if you think the committee puts a 1 loss Tennessee over any undefeated P5 champion????
If this 1-loss Tennessee team handily beat the two-time reigning national champions on a 29-game winning streak in the conference title game, yes.

*and were showing signs of a dominating defense and our star QB were healthy.

For sure.

And if FSU had been riding Greg McElroy all year on the back of that stout D, it would be different. But they weren’t riding Greg McElroy, they had Jordan Thomas.

They had an elite QB. Now they don’t have an elite QB.

And they are a vastly different team.

I would be way more upset if UT was being left out in Bama's situation than FSU's. Bama has the much better team and frankly better resume. I'd take 4-1 vs top 25 teams (one of which is UGA at neutral championship site) vs 2-0 vs top 25 teams (which aren't nearly as good).

But they’ve shown they can win without him…even in their conference championship🤷‍♂️

And Bama showed they can lose WITH their starting QB…and a miracle to beat a 6-6 team. Sounds logical.
