Why can’t the committee believe FSU is not a top 4 team currently (after last nights poop show) and it not be corruption?

They’ve won on the road and beat a top 15 ranked team without Jordan Travis. Again, the committee isn’t supposed to put in the 4 teams that they ‘think’ are the best. Their job is to look at the on field wins and losses and put in the four most deserving teams. A 13-0 P5 conference champion deserves to be in.

Man after watching Bama’s DB’s in that game (including the guy who wasn’t a starter) All I can say is “it must be nice”. Our DB’s aren’t even in the same galaxy talent wise. I think Gibson and Matthews are up there talent wise but alas they were true freshman. I am still mad Martinez didn’t get them more snaps against Vandy when it was obviously a blowout.
We have to teach them to grab, hold, forearm shiver, etc. It won't get called every play and that is how Bama and Georgia have rolled for years.

Here is why I think Bama gets in over FSU. I believe the below is the listed criteria. Bama has a 17th ranked SOS and FSU has the 63rd ranked. I am not sure about the 4th bullet, but that second bullet will be the rationale. It makes me sick, but this is what I believe happens. I truly hope it's not because I believe that FSU proved on the field last night they deserve to be in.

  • Championships won
  • Strength of schedule
  • Head‐to‐head competition (if it occurred)
  • Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)
They use that criteria when you have comparable team season results. FSU, Michigan, and Washington are undefeated power 5 conference champs so they don’t fall into that category. The criteria you posted will mainly apply to UGA, Bama, and Texas and based on that criteria, Texas will get the nod.

From the bylaws
"The CFP Committee will consider four criteria when teams are deemed comparable: championships won, strength of schedule, head-to-head competition and comparative outcomes of common opponents."

Texas has the head to head advantage against the other 2 for the fact they beat Bama. They also have the tougher strength of schedule based on FPI at #11 (Bama’s was 31, UGA’s was 61)

The undefeated P5 conference champs are not comparable to the 1-loss teams.

FSU beat a Top 15 team while having to play a third-string freshman QB, never trailed, held a Top-20 offense to 6 points.

And now they're a 13-0 P5 champ with 4 Top 25 wins.

I promise it’s okay for the SEC to get left out. SEC is like a little kid that never learned how to lose and cries till they get their way or the outcome changes.
Who do you think is better right now?

And I don’t think the committee will care about head to head in the season with respect to comparing Alabama to Texas.

I just don’t.

I also am not as passionate about this as the rest of you, I don’t care what happens.

Sad thing is if the SEC is left out I believe Stanky will double down on UGA and bama (probably Tejas also)instead of allowing the games to happen fairly next year
If anything, it should be a reminder to keep their hands off of it completely, and it will work itself out for the best of all involved.

Unfortunately, I think they will take the wrong lesson from this though, like you said.

It’s either Texas or Georgia. Take Georgia out of the equation since they’re not a conference champ and you have two one-loss conference champs. Texas has the H2H, so they’re the easy choice. Texas will be ranked over Bama in any scenario.

The only wildcard is if they value Georgia’s previous ranking more and can’t have a #7 leapfrog the previous #1.

Idc who is better right now. That’s basically saying the rest of the season doesn’t matter.

You work your ass off all season for a full schedule, not the last game. FSU deserves to be rewarded for going undefeated.

You’re right, but in a sport filled with corruption, I fully anticipate that FSU to get hosed.

Still not sure why everyone is talking about FSU. History tells us that TX will get screwed because they can more easily mental gymnastics the justification. (Bla, bla, bla, BS, BS, BS…Bama, because…)
Yeah one of FSU or Texas is getting kicked out for Alabama. It’s gonna happen.

The selection show is 2 hours long.

Does anyone remember how far into the show before they make the actual announcement? Is it like 30 mins in or 1 hour in?

Ok. Who are the best 4 to you?

You don’t have to answer. That’s what they’re discussing.

It’s gonna be outrage from some fanbase and it’s all completely warranted lol.

FSU looks pretty damn fast on defense to me so far
fsu's defense is legit. But what great offense have they really played, LSU in the first game?

I would love for Bama to get excluded. But what's going to happen is FSU or Texas will, and FSU looked so bad on offense, it gives the committee an out so they don't have to choose between Texas and Bama.

Also I want to point out the mental gymnastics of which metrics determine which team is better…so is the eye test, is it how much more they win by, is it the historical RECRUITING ranking (p.s. this is what skews everyone’s brains).
I really want to know what metric determines that Bama is better than FSU? The supposed “better” team every week. Look at Oregon. I was told they were the “better” team vs Washington all season. So are they still the “better” team based on the arbitrary metrics even though they lost both games? Technically they are still the same team, so what makes them no longer better than Washington?

Call me an elitist if you want, but south of the border is a sea of violence, corruption and stupidity I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole.

Thank God I'm Tennessean.

FYI, I'm talking about Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Texas has the head to head over Bama. No mental gymnastics can get around that. FSU is vulnerable because of their QB’s injury and because they don’t have a great strength of schedule. The committee can say “well, Alabama had a tougher schedule than FSU and just ended Georgia’s 29 game win streak”. We know that’s not the real reason of why Bama would jump FSU, of course, but it provides some justification to robbing FSU.
