Anyone notice what K. Salter did yesterday in Liberty's conference champ. game?

There must have been bigger issues than pot. Either that or mindsets have changed. Mincey got cited for possession and didn’t miss a game.
He was involved first in the "dorm break in and weed robbery" that eventually "never happened" and got his leash shortened. A few weeks later he was stopped in a car full of weed smoke and with a little weed in the middle of the night.

I'm glad he got his discipline issues worked out or found somewhere (maybe it's legal in VA?) that tolerates weed differently.

There it is.

Big game... 20-25 319 yds 2 TDs, 12 car. 165 yds rushing. Makes you wonder what he might have done in Heupel's offense, if he'd kept his head on straight.
Pass. He was nothing but trouble the moment he stepped into Knoxville. The fan base did so much to support his dad and all he did was fail repeatedly.

Perhaps in VA if weed is legal there now and if you think Liberty isn't just like a lot of colleges, I've had family members attend there. It's a college and college kids do what college kids do: stupid, hormone driven, thoughtless things.

The same things you and I probably did when we were young, dumb and full of...... some substance we probably should've avoided.

I figured w/ Liberty being a religious institution that any sort of substance, regardless of legality, would be against school policy. I think Salter probably went to Liberty to get away from that mindset and start fresh, instead of finding a place that would allow his behavior to be more acceptable or forgivable . He completely blew it here. Did he even make it to 1 practice?

So is premarital sex but my niece's roommate probably got pregnant by her "religious education studies" boyfriend in the dorm.

You've been to college, right?

Salter was undisciplined at UT and probably a good kid once he got past the "I'm out of the house and nobody can tell me $#|+" phase. He's talented. Heupel couldn't tolerate much crap back then because he had to get as much work out of a decimated roster and culture that sucked.

Possession of small amounts is legal in VA…selling any amount is not. Liberty has a vey strict substance policy.

IMO, Heupel did Salter a huge favor by dismissing him and showing that actions have consequences. I suspect Salter also has had an active monitoring program at Liberty to make sure he doesn’t backslide.

My impression was that Salter came from a pretty good background but was, at the time, a little too immature for the situation he stepped into. Wish him luck.

I've got nothing against Salter. I'd not be surprised to see him at least get a look from the NFL. He was young. I'm certain Liberty was a good move for him personally and as a player. He's got talent and I bet he's a much different man now than he was at 18.

As for Liberty, there's really only so much you can do with all those kids with all those hormones and even all that faith. I love them but teens/20s are more like big, dumb puppies sometimes.

I’d say his time here helped him figure out he was in the wrong path and just maybe was the first time he had been told no in an athletic situation. I hope for him he has turned it around.

I do wish him luck. I was only questioning whether weed was legal at Liberty.
