He may have been on staff for only a short time, but he was on staff for this past season. I have to assume he was involved with the DB play this season.

I get it. I'm gonna get attacked for having less than a rah-rah opinion on what Heupel is doing with this hire. I just think we could do better. Maybe this guy works out. If he doesn't, it's a black eye because we're passing on the opportunity to make a more established hire. But whatever, It's just my opinion. We'll see how it works out on the field and in recruiting.

And he may have been involved in turning Hadden into the SEC leading DB he became.

Given the number of sure-fire-big-name coaches that we lament not hiring, only to see them fired from some other school, you'd think that eventually we'd learn that we know absolutely nothing about coach quality and hiring assistants.

Do we? We “needed “ Thornton last year and got almost nothing from him.
What we had already could of easily done what he did.

We would of been much better off using the resources to get another WR elsewhere.
Same this year!

Must be looking at different data than me that shows Raymond is a good DB coach. I’m not saying he isn’t but show me why he is

Something else to learn, sometimes the nay-sayers are right. There are always people who see the problem first. Not saying I'm right. Hoping I'm wrong. All I want is what's best for the program, and I think we could do better. Not gonna sit here and argue though when I know opinions will not be changed, neither mine nor yours.

Former LSU standout Corey Raymond returned to Baton Rouge during the spring of 2012 and will serve as the Tigers' defensive backs coach in 2013.

Elite recruiter and I count 8 guys hes put in the NFL, and I know a couple were high draft picks.

99% of the posters on this forum have zero clue as to who will be a good fit for DB coach. The last time I remember when we hired the "hot" name in coaching and all the know it all fans said we hit a HR and massively upgraded, we ended up with Bob Shoop and I don't think his coaching career has recovered since being the DC here. (In case anyone can't remember, our defense sucked under him, and regressed massively)
