Right now I'm saying 9-3. That may change in the coming months. jmo
We know he was a starter, we know he played well (game ball), we know he was a 2-year captain at BYU, and we know that he was brought in specifically because coaches didn't think the young guys behind him were ready to carry the load yet. But no, I doubt he is the best linebacker ever, although in fairness, I doubt anyone ever said that he was.You have got to be kidding me. Our best LB? That is Beasley and has been for a while. Pili played a half of football for us and somehow was the best linebacker ever.
I hope he is great next year but we know nothing about him yet.
I'm honestly not that worried about TE, it's a piece of the offense but it isn't an imperative piece. We will be lucky to find 1 TE of starting caliber and 1-2 OL of starting caliber. Everything else on that list would be depth adds.
I'd like some luck, though.
I love 3 4-game stretches. 2 byes will be big for us, given the depth/injury issues we've run into all 3 years of Heupel's tenure.Schedule isn’t easy. @Norman. @UGA. Etc.
But looking at the dates and order of the games.. I’m happy with that. We FINALLY get to play UF a little later in the season, we have our hardest stretch of games at home, and yeah, it’s weird to see 2 bye weeks but those will be valuable, IMO. Sets up nicely all things considered.
If true, that would be grounds for termination. It would deliberately alter game outcomes. One more thing on penalties. There are conference top performers that were penalized a lot. Washington is most penalized in the PAC. Oregon is also. Florida State is called for a lot of penalties. This reminds me of what someone said earlier this year. The officials are out of shape and trying to slow down fast offenses. They cannot keep up and start throwing the flag on fast teams. Explains why Ole Miss was second most penalized in the SEC. Oklahoma is most penalized in the Big 12.
That article @volbeast33 quoted was a year old iirc.Hasn’t he been here two years? I know MLB has learning curves, but looking completely lost in two years is not a good sign. Mistakes happen, but he doesn’t do much on the field.
I have for some time now COME TO THE CONCLUSION that outside of REAL difference makers in the HS ranks, CJH has pivoted to filling the MOST GLARING needs from the portal. The number of slots available will come into a clearer focus after the level set meetings with players coach referenced recently. I am guessing that our abilities in that market will be greatly impacted by our NIL bank balance and the amount we will have left after trying to secure some guys on the roster with various options. NOT A CLUE where that really stands as of today. I am not going to approach the edge of the bridge when HS guys we have continued to dance with go elsewhere. Not sure how many HS guys we are all in with. NIL is for sure a mixed bag in today's landscape in BOTH markets.Dang, we need to be looking into all the linebackers we can find, but overall it sounds like a boring signing day outside of Seaton.
