I expect Joe to start the bowl game and play the whole way unless it gets out of hand.

Its clear Heupel thinks Joe gives us the best chance to win. Doesnt matter what we think. His job is to win games. Period. He is not going to treat the bowl game like its meaningless. And he shouldn't. 9-4 at the end looks a lot better than 8-5.

Despite how it felt 9 wins would be a pretty small step back from last year in the grand scheme and i remember the days of desperately begging for seasons like this.

Deal with next year when we get there imo.

Nico will be fine. This redshirt year is probably best case scenario for his development long term. The team is his next year and everybody knows it.

Upgrade where you can this offseason and stay the course. Better days are coming.

We have the potential, the resources, the money. It's not our fault the AD was ran by morons.
We have national titles, we are talking about teams who view a good season as going to a Janurary bowl. That is and should be the norm at Tennessee.
Oh I agree. We should hold our program to higher standards and not let them fall because of bad coaching hires.

But I don’t think we can put that on Heupel in year three. We are building and it’s going on the right direction. Heupel is still a young head coach too.

Thought about that it could be taken that way, after I posted. Just didnt have time to edit.

Wasnt meant that way. Youve told me your past, and Ernie Michael doesnt take any ****, is all. My bad man.

The artist and writer is from E Kentucky, I think Harlan. Really funny, light hearted look at Appalachia.
😉 got you...hehehe.

Completely disagree.

Who cares if it’s 8-5 or 9-4.

And maybe it costs you a game next year not having game reps for Nico or other players to leave because you keep playing seniors.

You have to play for the future now and next season.

When he was hired I thought he was a bridge coach. I said give him 5-6 years, I'm at the point where he needs to make Atlanta in the next couple. I mean how long are we going to make excuses for the guy?

I'm old enough to remember us being good every year in the 90's and early 2000's. I don't expect this team to win a natty every other year. We have never been that program. I don't ever expect us to lose to a sub .500 team. That should never be acceptable. If we are turning the page as a program, I think we should hold ourselves higher than comparing to what the previous idiots did. I have watched every second of all of those painful games. I still think Huepel could be the guy and win a lot of games here. That doesn't mean losing to 5-7 UF and not being close against Mizzou is ok. I think its ok to say those are red flags that have to be addressed going forhehe he.
🦬💩....this was always a thin flawed team. With a bad coach this team would have lost 7 games.

I think Heup wants to be able to show others his ginuwine unfettered plan and loyalty. Once your his guy, thats it.

Not sure what else there is to say on that one.

I care. I would guess many other Vol fans throughout the world care as well.

I know Heupel cares cause that record will be with his name for the rest of his career.

Its not the end goal. We fell short of that. Its a disappointment. But you win as many games as you can. You owe it to everybody associated with the program.

I would say there’s a 90% chance Joe plays the bowl game from start to finish
I also think it’s funny the same people that are praying for him to opt out are probably the same that think opting out is bad for the game.

Chances are this is the last chance Milton has to play a meaningful football game in his career. Nico playing has little to no effect on next season.

We can at least make excuses once right? The first two years he exceeded expectations. So that buys him at least one i think.

One can hold both of those opinions simultaneously. Opting out is bad for the sport, but they’ve devalued most of the bowls to the point where certain players opting out is absolutely the correct decision for their future.

It’s the correct decision for Joe, too. But I can’t fault the kid for wanting to play.
