What are the seeding rules for the new CFP? I imagine it isn’t just the Top 12 teams with conference champions right? If it were then it’d cause a lot of SEC heavy playoffs in any given year.

I’m sure they have a token slot for the G5 schools to get murdered in the first round, or limits on teams per conference, right?

I think G5 will be included, along with the automatic conference Champs. However, I've seen nothing in way of conference limits, in fact that's one of the reasons it died year before last. Everyone afraid SEC would get half the field of 12.

Five conference champions plus 7 others.... Five conference champion includes best Group of 5 team...
Unless they change it again...

Undefeated Michigan in Playoffs
Undefeated FSU in playoffs
Washington vs Oregon Winner in Playoffs...#4 vs #6 game Ray Charles could see this winner in...

Now to the good stuff...
Texas beats Oklahoma St.. which they should
Alabama beats Georgia....

Who is 4th team?

Should be Texas with head to head win over Bama...

This scenario should come true if FSU beats Louisville....
Committee isn't leaving a undefeated conference champion out...

To hell with the SEC if Tennessee isn't in it ...none of them should be...
Georgia will almost definitely be #1 on Tuesday. I think they get in with the above scenario.

Kind of why they made these mega conferences so the SEC could look even better.

5 conference champions then 7 others.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see these 6 teams in the playoffs most years. With A&M making an appearance once they figure out their coaching search.

Texas, OK, UGA, Bama, LSU, UT, Ole Miss

I don’t disagree. It’s the Power 4 now with the Pac12 gone, so we’d have the 4 conference champions… I guess one G5 school? So 7 slots remain, and 3 of the 7 would probably be SEC schools any given year. Outside of this part of the country, I don’t think anyone would be happy with that arrangement.

AP hinted on the post game pod that some sophomores may portal out due to the lack of playing time. I did see where Addison Nichols was mentioned in another thread. What other guys are rumored to be candidates?
This screams Webb, Sampson, Perry, and Thomas.

Edit: Nichols as well, since a few posters have said that this morning.

This week they will be #1 maybe...Michigan beating OSU was more impressive than Georgia beating Georgia Tech...

If Alabama beats Georgia this Saturday ...Georgia should drop out of Top 4...Alabama has too many obstacles to jump ...Texas, Oregon ,FSU and Washington are above them...

Hope SEC playoff chances explode in Sankey's face.....

At risk of being crucified for posting what someone else said again-

Did anyone listen to the 247 podcast last night? McKee, Rucker and co. went on for a while saying we’re probably an 8 win team again next season.

If that happens, even if Vegas has our O/U at 8, what would the consensus on it?

I think the new SEC will probably make 8-9 win years a lot more valued than they are now. It’ll just be too brutal of a schedule not to lose a couple games or more for most teams.
It’s possible unless we hit the portal hard as Hubbs suggests the program is willing to do, esp for OL, defensive back 7, maybe a playmaker at WR.

On the other hand, I feel like we could have been 10-2 this year with better QB play. We’ll have that next year.

Pate seems to disagree though.

I’m not gonna fight with Pate about who threw the bigger fit over an awful coaching hire, but it’s pretty obvious we threw the bigger fit.

Edit: and it may just be because ours happened in the middle of the day and our administration seemed significantly less willing to cave.

Cheering for FSU over UF should be easy for any vol fan. Do none of y’all nerds remember lawgator and his insufferable diatribes?
It is more than that, missing bowl practice days is important. Hell just missing a bowl game is big recruiting wise. As a Vol fan we should be real happy when UF and ISC miss a bowl game

Apparently VOLS have mean teams. Clark Lea saying they were fighting for one another, and the Purdue leader saying that our basketball team were bullies or whatever. (Love our AD response) Then Kelly Harper said her team was too nice and they can't be that way. I guess that's it.
We’re errybody’s World Series. 😉
