I'm done. Let's see who's right. A DC in the era of the portal and NIL shouldn't need 5 years to be able to have a defense that doesn't consistently give up 3rd, 4th and 30. It ridiculous.
Do you even understand the portal and NIL?
From your post I’m guessing no.
You realize that 100+ teams have access to NIL and portal.
Every difference maker has 50 other teams offering basically the same thing.
It’s not a store stocked with 5* players that you go in and load up your cart with whatever you want.

And don’t respond with what everyone else has done.
Who’s won NC’s post portal and NIL.?
Short list.
It ain’t no magic pill.

Not complicated.

We shot 36 more 3s than those 2 teams. You don't draw fouls shooting 3s...

Meanwhile they were both playing paint ball all day with the 2 best bigs in the game.
Good point, dont disagree...except for the 21 fouls, 30 free throws we took against Purdue.

Something is complicated somewhere, if you're watching a basketball game with 78 free throws...unless you like watching games with 51 total fouls?

Against Kansas, we shot 33 three pointers...as you said, not going to get many fouls called there. However, that leaves 38 other shots (we took 71 total shots) that weren't three pointers, compared to Kansas' 40 shots that weren't 3's...still we doubled them in total fouls. Again, Tennessee: 38 shots that were not 3's, 9 total fouls on Kansas...Kansas: 40 shots that were not 3's, 18 total fouls on Tennessee.

The vast majority of the players are in the portal for one of two reasons: NIL auction, or because they can't get playing time and want to go somewhere they can play.

So, either you're in a NIL bidding war or you're suiting other peoples' backups. You are correct; despite the word "portal", it's not a magical plot device.

what was the total points scored int the lane? It’s not just 2 point shots….. it’s attacking the rim.

Happy Thanksgiving all

- who ya got?

1) Egg Bowl

2) Pack/Lions

3) Commanders/Boys

4) Niners/Hawks

I'm going with some upsets just for fun

1) Miss St - this game is always weird and it's in cowbell city

2) Packers - I can see the future

3) Cowboys

4) Niners
I think commanders could potentially upset the Boys. Ole miss will dog walk msu

If geno plays for Seahawks, look out for them being sneaky at home👀👀

I'm not sure...wasn't able to find the stats specifically for inside the paint, or driving the ball.

I agree, more fouls drawn driving to the rim, absolutely; and, while in times past, this hasn't been UT's game, this year we have been attacking the lane and rim more, with guys like Knecht and Gainey.

Lol, I understand it perfectly. Do you? Evidently Mizzou did. One excuse for the beat down was Mizzou did well in the portal. What advantages does Mizzou have in regards to the portal over TN? Is it that monster stadium? Is it that world renowned NIL program?

Some people want Banks gone. They don't think he will ever take the defense where it needs to go.

Some people think he has done a decent job with the tools he has and was given and don't mind seeing how he does for another year.

Some people think Banks has done a great job because the defense has improved statistically each year so far and that it will only get better with more talent coming in.

Everyone pretty much falls into one of those camps. Nobody is likely to convince anyone that they should switch camps. Let's all stop saying the same things over and over again. Goodness, if we changed coaches names to politicians names all these conversations would get deleted. Or worse, moved to the politics forum. Just everybody talk about something else for a while, please.
