Today’s game against Purdue’s big lineup and Zach Edey is a great test for our bigs. Gotta stay out of foul trouble. It was impressive yesterday being able to generate offense without Knecht, when the team needed buckets.

JJJ is back to his 2022 March level, and if he plays at that level with Knecht and Gainey, we have a standout trio. Not to mention Vescovi and Ziegler and Aidoo. This team is stout.

(1) Actually, I admitted that you could be correct and I could be wrong. It's just that if you are correct, it's in spite of your failure of analysis; not because of it.

(2) That's ridiculous. Nuance and analysis is almost never a bad thing. If you still have a business, it's because you actually agree with me on this.

(3) If the simple conclusion is the result of mere impatience and entitlement, absent nuanced analysis, it's in spite of the process that created the conclusion; not because of it.
Ive done the analysis, you've either ignored it or missed it. You've admitted that the defense is not good, you've simply made excuses in the form of roster. That's really your only argument. I've asked you at least 3 times when we should expect to see even an average defense. You said I used hyperbole when I asked if it should be year 5, 6, or 7. That shows how short sided you are. Next year is year 4. We lose a lot of contributors this year. I don't expect much of an improvement next year so that puts us in year 5. So I ask again, 5, 6, or 7? Chances are, if Nico is what he's billed as, we'll be breaking a new qb in in year 6.

And your comment that i could be right but it wouldn't be because I did the appropriate analysis is hilarious. I do own a business and I usually don't do some kind of statical analysis to fire someone. When they do a ****** job, I fire them.

Uhhh Knowles is literally an established, successful DC from a top flight program - the exact type he says we are *not* getting - and that’s the name you said for DC.
Well okay, now you throw a name out there then??...I hear the critism of my post which is fine ...opinion board..Vols vs Purdue 8 p.m. tonight ...Go Vols..

That's where you look. Your not luring away an established, successful, DC from a top flight program. We're not cheap, Banks makes $1.6 and this is his first gig as a DC. We can get an experienced, successful, established DC.
I agree, based on how we got Banks, that it may be challenging to get an big name DC, because this is still a rebuild. These established DC's that have talent and depth are not going to risk their stats and reputation coming here when defense will be a challenge and they catch heat like Banks.

Banks was sole play caller at CMU where I think they won MAC championship 2 times.
He was sole play caller at Cincinnati where they won Big East Championship and Banks was nominated for Broyles and won Big East Coordinator of the Year (Rivals) and then he was sole playcaller at Illinois. (This is in his bio). He was co-DC at Penn State but didn't call plays, but I believe they won the Big Ten while he was there, so Banks has won Conferece Championships 3 times as DC and 1 time as Co-DC.

Coaches say a lot of things. Could it hurt a little. Sure. But not much. It’s easy to say we will be fine and it’s dragging on. We have lawyers handling it and we will get a slap on the wrist. Biggest issue is not wanting to spend extra on some misses that went elsewhere. I bet they wish we had ponied up now for some.
If I'm recruiting against TN, I'm showing footage of this defense getting torched time and time again. I don't think sanctions are a factor at all now.

Good morning, Tim. How much time do you need? 10 years?

I'd take back the bold names off your maybe in a heartbeat. I actually think GJL with another off-season could be REALLY good next year. Walker I thought was one of the more consistent guys with Hadden and I'd contribute those two being hurt as a lot of what changed with our pass defense.
The main reason I put them as "maybes" is because roster spots will be limited and if we can get better in the portal.....
