Recruiting Football Talk VII

Interestingly enough when talking about assistant coaches and extensions.
Ellerbe and Halzle have contracts through 25.
Banks, BM, Garner are all through 24

It depends on the contracts.
Normally you aren't extending one year then firing the next.
The best thing that could happen is Banks moving to a small school to be a HC.

Only reason he went that late is because of his blood issue he had
And technical issues from bad OL coaching. Before the draft, he participated in a big man camp at my workplace and the guru who conducts it had a lot to work with. You know how persnickety the Underwear Olympics and Pro Day evaluations get and hand placement et al gets picked to death. I remember defending Will Friend under the belief that you can either coach big uglies or you can’t…everything else is recruiting at the level of your program. Friend was MAYBE better than Mahoney…not good in retrospect.

Okay... So Knowles would never leave ..no matter how much money got it..👍
He’s making almost two million, and we’re talking OHIO STATE. They ponied up to keep their (former) linebackers coach when he was top choice for Heupel’s first DC. That’s why we circled back to Banks.

That's fine , but if Banks take a HC job ...there has to be a Big time DC somewhere that would love to be at Tennessee...

Wasted effort in trying to explain it

This is more of that detailed, critical analysis that's been fueling the "Fire Banks" discussion.

But hey, no need to overcomplicate things. Simple is best. "Must be somewhere" is how we'll rebuild the program from crater status.

Opinion board you don't agree ....that's fine...

I’m looking more innovative and hungry. Knowles was Oklahoma State’s and Duke’s DC before Ohio State made him “big time”.
That's where you look. Your not luring away an established, successful, DC from a top flight program. We're not cheap, Banks makes $1.6 and this is his first gig as a DC. We can get an experienced, successful, established DC.

Ive got a bet. Whats the over/under this place will make it?#nobody wants to work

They will have to rely on ETSU students who are in turn delivering cookies to other ETSU students. Company was born in a college dorm room.

And you do the same. (1) You give no creedence to my stance. Glad you have faith in him. (2) Oh and by the way, if you have to complicate your argument up, chances are it's not that good of a position. (3) Often the simplest conclusion is the correct one.

Have a good one.
(1) Actually, I admitted that you could be correct and I could be wrong. It's just that if you are correct, it's in spite of your failure of analysis; not because of it.

(2) That's ridiculous. Nuance and analysis is almost never a bad thing. If you still have a business, it's because you actually agree with me on this.

(3) If the simple conclusion is the result of mere impatience and entitlement, absent nuanced analysis, it's in spite of the process that created the conclusion; not because of it.

That's the point I was trying to make...until Tim Bank's agent zapped me😉😉😉

And then he disappears for a majority of the game. He’s got the same amount of carries as Jayden Daniels. And two other QBs are not far behind him. He’s so freaking productive. I’m not chastising him, just wishing an alternate reality where he even had just 50 more rushes. The best back in the league.

Oh I agree… I just don’t think that’s on him when he disappears tho. Coaches are persistent on wanting to rotate a lot of drives

Not sure we can fairly judge recruiting seeing how we haven't had a year yet without the shadow of major violations hanging over us. Even CJH said that it's seriously affected recruiting and they've been dealing with massive negative recruiting.
Coaches say a lot of things. Could it hurt a little. Sure. But not much. It’s easy to say we will be fine and it’s dragging on. We have lawyers handling it and we will get a slap on the wrist. Biggest issue is not wanting to spend extra on some misses that went elsewhere. I bet they wish we had ponied up now for some.

Any update on OL injuries? Hoping we can at least have Cooper, Campbell, and Mincey playing. Although, it looks like mincey is ready to be gone.
