The more the evidence piles up that he's wrong, the more he doubles down on his ridiculous thinking. And then, when its the end of the road on an issue and he simply cannot be uniquely right, he blames someone else for having sent him down that road.

It's so important to him that other people think he's right and successful, that he makes huge mistakes and doesn't care as long as somebody, somewhere, will pat him on the back and reassure him he's right.

People don't like him because he's a soon to be felon scumbag, devoid of morals who tried to usurp the will of the people.

The whole "he's just like all the other politicians" is about a shallow and lazy of an argument as one could muster. No, no he's not like everyone else.

That's the irony. On many, many issues, he's not the least bit conservative. Never had been. But he was savvy enough to sense that he could take advantage of the MAGA resentment class to portray himself as conservative to the extent needed to get elected.

There's no real difference in the egomania, but there's a huge difference in backgrounds. Politicians are lying, thieving scum who downplay it to accumulate wealth and power they could never amass if honest and truly representative of the people they "represent". Trump is a showman, a marketing guy, full of himself to get others to invest in his schemes or scams; he obviously doesn't know when, why, and how to tone it down. Guess that makes him a bit more honest than the run of the mill politician. And, no, it's not a good look. Better maybe to know somebody is overselling things than facing a pack of convincing liars and thieves.
