2024 Presidential Race

A lot of people also say we've had some less than stellar candidates as well. Apparently the Republican candidate for governor, Cameron, had been all over the map saying what he thought people wanted to hear instead of sticking with a strong message. I thought he was a sharp guy but I hadn't followed his campaign. The state of Kentucky seems a little confused. They got a two term democrat governor. I don't know, maybe the guy is good but if you still run as a democrat then you are embracing the core of what the party stands for. Then they keep electing Mitch McConnell. Perhaps it's clear how they are the worst state for meth. I hope that doesn't become Tennessee since there is a report out that we are a popular state to Mexican cartels.

The party chair should be identifying potentially strong candidates and encouraging them to run, this chick is pure establishment rinse and repeat.

Manchin about to throw a monkey wrench into this thing.

A Manchin candidacy will hurt the R candidate way more than the D. Dems will vote for who they are told to vote for without asking questions, I can see a lot of potential R voters pulling the lever for Manchin out of disgust for the R candidate.

Manchin is a Trojan horse.

Good question but I think what we need to focus on is that someone changes the direction policy and the way things are ran in government and cut waste.

That threat to democracy we hear about - this is what elitist really mean when they say it. That their corruption wagon good ole boys and girls club will be upheaved.
I agree. The federal government wastes so much of tax payers dollars and then they want to raise taxes. All of the waste could go to fixing the country's schools and infrastructure.

He would pull more votes from Trump. I agree with you. He would get some Dem votes though.

True. Do you think Trump is almost guaranteed the nomination at this point or do you think things could change?

I hope things change but I just don't know. Right now there isn't anyone in the R field that excites me, I was really hoping VR was going to be the guy and if not him TS but both have crossed a couple of my red lines. So I'll probably be voting for Jill Stein again.

I don’t disagree. Hence the term monkey wrench.

I'm not excited about any of the candidates myself. I could always write a candidate in I guess.

I disagree (especially relating to Trump). Manchin would pull the independent and suburban voters that have abandoned Trump in record numbers. Since Biden is an incumbent, Manchin would pull those that lean D but are disillusioned with Biden...

Core base vs core base, Trump beats Biden....

Personally I don't get the appeal of Manchin. He's either one of the most gullible Senators or crooked as a dogs hind leg. How many times has he "stood up to his party" yet ends up voting with them on radical legislation only to later say "he didn't know what was in it". Or some lame excuse along those lines.

I dont disagree here...

Manchin is a Trojanupheaval.

As I mentioned before Republicans are good at taking defeat out of the jaws of victory.

If someone doesnt mount a challenge to trump, the country's kind of screwed. I dont see biden beating him again.

Biden beats Trump in 2024. I think Trump flips back GA but Labor gains in the Midwest and NV keep those states from flipping back and Arizona's high % of independent voters plus the antics of Kari Lake sinks AZ....

See I think you are wrong in this. These so called "independent" voters are voting for whoever is promising them free crap, so will end up pulling the lever for the D. What I'm assuming you are calling suburban voters are feeling the pain of Bidenomics, the men will pull the lever for Manchin or the R candidate while the women will vote for the D candidate.

But I still firmly believe that neither Trump or Biden will be on the ticket and MO will be the next POTUS.

If you keep those dollars in the individual states instead of sending them to the federal government for them to redistribute it. The Department of Education needs to go. The state of Tennessee is studying not accepting those funds.

Think the auto makers will hold off on layoffs until after the election?

I see more Biden 2020 voters switching to Manchin in AZ and GA than Trump voters switching to Manchin. Those 2 states flip to Trump if Manchin is in the race. I don't think Manchin pulls that much support but he'll pull enough to flip those 2 red...

I just don't see it. I think a lot of the suburban voters as you describe them are in the camp of "I won't waste my vote" thinking.
