Trump could win being in jail and not on the ballots of several large states. What happens then? The best way to get past trump is for him to lose to another (moderate) republican.

if he has been convicted of a felony, he would be ineligible for election according to the Constitution. Seems like his voters should respect that, seeing how upset they got about the last election's credibility.

I kind of agree, but the only reason trump still has support now is that his base sees all the lawsuits against him as being, um, trumped up a bit.

Rubes are as bad as the gangster. There's nothing trumped up about putting a man on trial for inciting an attack on the U,S. Capitol and trying to illegally subvert an American election. He most definitely should be charged for that, put on the trial for that, and for stealing classified documents and not returning them despite repeated requests to do so, then lying about returning all the documents, then blabbing U.S. secrets to outsiders. The gangster is a threat to American security and to our democracy. As for his financial crime trial in New York, he's been quite obviously lying on his financial disclosure forms for ages. Corruption and dishonesty are inherently a part of trump's personality. He and his family were many times caught lying about the occupancy rates in new condos that they were trying to sell--making claims that 65 percent of the condos in one building were sold when the real number was, like 28 percent. The man lies through his teeth about everything and then 30 minutes later will claim that he didn't say what he did. He needs to move from Mar-a-Lago to Sing-Sing.

Right now it's easy for the challenger to take cheap pot shots at the incumbent. Let's see how things stand when the country has to decide best who can fend off Russia while juggling the complexities of the mid East. The reality of how much Trump will screw that up at every level has yet to set in.

Train wreck? Biden has greatly weakened Russia at small cost and no U,S. casualties, which equals a major geostrategic victory for Europe,
NATO, U.S. and democracy generally. Putin has been trying for many years to weaken NATO,, and now the defensive alliance is bigger and stronger than ever before: Finland a new member, Sweden about to become a new member, Ukraine to join in the very near future. Huge foreign policy win.

If the gangster were still around Ukraine would be under the boot of the war criminal/thug in Moscow. Let's ask our European allies and all of Eastern Europe--Baltic nations, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, etc. who they'd rather have in the White House. They all hate the gangster--and for good reason. He wants to be another Putin. Not happening--sorry about that.

Economy grew at robust 3.9 percent 3rd quarter. Record job growth under Biden. Post-covid inflation has been tamed. Infrastructure bill and Chip bills passed under Biden--two major pieces of legislation. U.S. is squeezing China's ability to produce/acquire the most advanced semiconductors.

Professional administration. No incompetent, unqualified family members in the White House. First-rate agency heads. Blinken--true pro--as Secretary of State instead of that fat, sweaty, pathetic hack named Pompeo who knows nothing about foreign affairs, foreign policy.
