Since taking over as head coach prior to the 2021 season, Josh Heupel has posted seven wins over ranked foes at the time of the meeting. The Vols had only seven ranked wins in the six seasons combined prior to Heupel (2015-20). The seven ranked wins in the past three seasons combined rank fourth in the FBS during that span.

I love how the home team honored the visitors. They did the card thing in the fans and the band also did a formation for Kentucky…. Of course nowadays it’s much easier for away teams to travel and have their own band. But it’s cool to see versus the enmity we seem to desire against opposing schools these days

Nothing to lose today. Nobody expects a win in Tuscaloosa, but oh man if we come out of there with a W it’s gonna be a beautiful night.

Yep. We do have to take the “next step” as a road team at some point though. We’ve not been good on the road outside of the LSU outlier. If we want to win championships, we can’t keep laying eggs in any tough environment we go. That’s the next thing. Don’t think this offense is the team to take that next step, but I would absolutely love to eat those words in about 10 hours.

I will be finding new hobbies in my life when it gets to that point. All the personality will be stripped from the game. Yeah, those years were trash but it takes them low times to appreciate what’s good.

AI will make it less likely for upsets to happen in sports also. You’re high talented teams will always outperform lesser teams because AI will take away from the unknown element in games that lesser teams take advantage of.

every analysis of this game I have heard mentions how our offense is not the same. Now that’s true but the funny part is bama’s offense is averaging about 80yards less per game than ours. But the same ppl talk like their offense will be fine. Funny how they move the goalposts or just simply don’t watch games. Prob both.
