After Tony Robinson went down, things looked bleak..............but Darryl Dickey came on to write the first chapter in what UT broadcaster John Ward would later call a "storybook year."
With Dickey calling the signals and Dale Jones' interception at the end, Tennessee defeated No. 15 Alabama 16-14 in Birmingham, launching a run to the SEC championship, the Vols' first since 1969 (and their first post-season Top Five ranking since 1970, after defeating No. 2 Miami 35-7 in the Sugar Bowl).

Alright folks, let's play a game.

Right now, we are averaging 8 penalties, 69.2 yards/game
Our opponents are averaging 6.2 penalties, 46.7 yards/game

How many penalties will we have on Saturday, and how many will Alabama have?

I'm going to say 11 for us, 5 for them
Bama is averaging 6 penalties per game at home.

We are averaging 10 on the road (I don’t count UVA in this since it’s neutral field..) This is an extremely small sample size though since it’s just one game, UF.

To note though, Bama had 10 penalties at home against Texas. Texas DL terrorized that Bama OL. Even at home, if a lot of those penalties were offense related than our DL should be able cause havoc as well.

I’ll say, 10 penalties by us 7 by them.

A big reason that the windows are tighter this year is because Joe is not throwing the ball when it needs to be thrown, or he doesn’t identify who is open /coming open.
Many times last year it didn't matter when the qb threw it, it was a matter of the receiver catching on the 20 or the 10 on the way to the endzone. The ball Keyton drop last week was an example, we had people that wide open all the time. The fear of JH created a lot of openings for the other receivers. That is a huge difference, there is no receiver that the defense is in abject fear of this year.

We do to..he just doesn't see them.
I don't think people understand the effect of losing JH. He created a lot of openings for himself and others. He demanded extra attention from the defense. He made over the top safeties cheat, he made players in zone coverage cheat, in short we don't have that receiver now. We are starting to create the same effect with the running game.
