I'm from VA and let me tell you guys

Virginia is the capitol of bandwagon fans. Since VA is so lame it doesn't have any professional sports teams people's allegiance is all over the map. Thankfully moms side is all Vol (pawpaw played under Dickey) so I was raised correctly.

They mainly like the commanderskins, but my god the amount of cowboy and Steeler fans were nauseating. So many people jumped on the Duke or UNC bandwagon. They'd root for UVA or VT football and then Duke/UNC basketball 🤮

I even met an older man from Appomattox who was a UVA basketball fan (after they were good) and a Bama football fan 🤮🤮🤮 and the dude had the most VA accent ever.

As a bonafide sports degenerate nothing is more annoying than dealing with bandwagoners. They don't really care because they're frontrunners.

I dont understand how you can root for one school in one sport and another in a different sport. That's the goofiest **** in the world.

Some situations are okay to me, but if you choose a blueblood like Duke or UNC it's gross. There were also people that rooted for VT football and UVA basketball 🙄

I don’t claim to believe in Bigfoot, and this likely isn’t him either. However, if interested, listen to this podcast episode. It had my skeptical mind intrigued. The whole podcast series is pretty great, as well. I’ve been listening on my commute for years.

I have different 'second fav' teams but they are way distant to my love for my alma mater, Tennessee.

UNC in basketball and Michigan in football (formed when I was young and lived in Michigan for 10 years).

I am just glad I didn't grow up a Longhorn or Cowboy fan...my Daddy never really cared a whole lot about sports, but he would say when I was a boy..."Son..we are from Tennessee, we are Volunteers not Longhorns"

I had no idea really what that meant until we moved back to Tennessee..just in time for the beautiful Sugar Vols season...and I knew in my bones then that I was born a Tennessee Volunteer and what that meant.
