I'm fine with carrying Hernandez, Chavez doesn't have the stuff and Wright needs more time to work. I trust all 3 as much as I trust a fart after I've had taco bell, so at least give me the guy with the best stuff.
Because if he pitches we are either up 10 or down 10.This isn’t a situation where Hernandez has 10 innings of dominant stuff in September or a big time prospect. He’s throw 3 innings in a pro setting since July, he can’t eat innings and he’s pitched 3.2 innings in MLB with two good outings and two bad outings. This is stupid. And if Hernandez was a candidate, why the hell did he not get called up the last week of the season?
Because if he pitches we are either up 10 or down 10.
With all the off days you aren't going much past Hand/Johnson/Minter/Iglesias/Yates.
Game 3 if Elder gets blown up you go
Elder, AJSS, Tonkin, Hernandez.
There's not a need to Chavez or Wright besides the part where either are ready.
Wright has an almost 7 ERA on the season. If your postseason roster logic says “we will add this guy and only pitch him if we are up 10 or down 10” you are not building it correctly. Wright and Chavez both can eat innings if it’s a blowout situation. You can go through a bullpen quick playing matchups especially with Philly’s lineup.
This is stupidity. I know Chavez and Wright can get out in the PS. Why? BECAUSE THEY HELPED US WIN THE WORLD SERIES. Tonkin and Hernandez??? When one has sucked out loud for a month and the other hasn’t pitched in MLB since July? It’s borderline insanity.
Wright has an almost 7 ERA on the season.
His 2 starts vs Philly since his return are :
4IP, 5 H, 4R, 4ER, 4 BB, 3 HR
3IP, 6 H 6R, 6ER, 4BB
The most pitches Chavez has thrown is 12.
Neither are ready.
Hernandez has the best stufff.
