As we now know, a lot of that had to do with internal team issues. Not having Banks was huge, and our pass rush is much better this year.

I can only assume the line is what it is because of night game in Neyland, which is a huge advantage tbh. Absolute must win, will be a massive 🚩 if Heupel doesn’t find a way

If Cooper comes back him at center, kick Ollie to guard and start Mincey at RT. That's a much better O line.
MSST had dudes running all over the field wide open, so you know Huepel is going to, hit the shots and SCAar gets run out of the stadium.

Graham Freaking Mertz had success against us in the UF game flowing around in the pocket and making throws to guys. If Mertz can do that, Rattler for sure can. He sure as hell did last year.

I'm not saying that we are definitely going to get beat. I'm just saying that it is totally foreseeable that we could. I would not have said that before the season started, but here we are. We might have guys running wide open, but can Joe consistently hit them? He's going to need to, because USCjr's front 7 is pretty good. Need to make them defend both the run and the pass.

Honestly, one of my biggest reasons for optimism about this game is that Vegas is falling all over themselves to get you to take those 11.5 points.

Yep. A loss in this game and I think you start to see actual damage to the equity Heup built up last season. We aren't there...yet.

I think UF was a lot better than many, including myself gave them credit for.

They also have way more of a run game than USCe does.

Eh, I don't think they're all that good. They are somewhere between the team that played against Utah and the team that played against us, probably closer to the Utah game.

UF does have a much better run game that USCjr does; that is a fair point. USCjr hasn't been able to run it well against anybody they've played, including Furman.

To Utahs credit, I think they're better than many thought as well.

I think they're about in-line. They came into the season fairly highly thought of, having won the Pac 12 last year. UF made them look a little better than what they actually are, I think. They haven't been super impressive in any of the 3 games they've played since then, although they've won them all.

They'll be better once they have Rising back.

There is no excuse whatsoever for Banks to not be really aggressive in this game. USCjr doesn't have much of a running game, their O line can't protect Rattler, and Rattler and the WR Legette are really the only guys that can hurt you. Their other really good WR got hurt in the UGA game and isn't playing. There needs to be a guy in Rattler's face every single drop back.

This is literally the game that should cost Banks his job if he's terrible.
I'm not saying if the defense gives up yards/plays, but if he sits back in that soft zone he's got to go.

Banks isn't going anywhere, but it could be the game that costs Willie Martinez his job. Actually, I think we're past that point with him. Some connected folks in the RF have said that Banks wanted Martinez out after last year but Heup wouldn't do it.

If I remember correctly though, he didn't get extended while others did tho.
