Hard-line conservatives line up to oppose stopgap funding deal, making passage difficult

Just hours after a government spending deal was brokered between members of the House Freedom Caucus and the Republican Main Street Caucus, several hard-line conservatives have come out in opposition to the proposal, ultimately putting its passage in peril less than two weeks before an expected government shutdown.

Congress has until Sept. 30 to pass some form of spending legislation, but intraparty tensions and disagreements in the House have complicated those efforts over the last two weeks. In light of this, six members from the Main Street Caucus and the Freedom Caucus worked since Tuesday to negotiate a continuing resolution that conservatives could get behind. The deal was announced Sunday night and included the House’s border security bill passed earlier this year, as well as spending cuts.

I tend to look at Islamic states as a family of inbred hicks generally looking for trouble. Often squabbling between themselves over petty issues and sometimes jealousy. Not much from that part of the world makes real sense. Centuries of tradition steeped in violence and some of the most absurd "law" on the face of the planet. People who apparently keep their women hidden so they won't be tempted to rape them ... and then who punish a raped woman if she didn't protest enough.

Iran apparently didn't play a part in 9/11, but it's been an ass for at least the last fifty years. Seems like the frozen fund joey the clown just released had to do with Iran snagging oil tankers as the pass by ... and we're paying a hefty bill to guard against that - should have kept the money and not frozen it to pay for that service. Iran ranks right up there with N Korea as places needing to be wiped off the face of the Earth.
You ignore the US lead coup in 1953 that removed the democratically elected leader and replaced him with a dictator. Why wouldn't the Iranians hate us? Iran went from being one of the more secular and "westernized" countries in the ME to now a theocracy.

The Shah westernized Iran quite a bit. It was after his ouster that Iran went back to the stone age

There is no abating the rising debt. It's completely intentional. Makes Americans poorer, thus more reliant on govt. It's a control mechanism, plain and simple. Then comes the great reset and as they say, the rest will be history.

The dream of home ownership (1st time home buyers) will decrease and it will be unaffordable for the "average" American or it will take a higher % of your income. They will resort more to apartments and condos consuming less space and building upward in the cities and the suburbs.

15 to 20 years ago the same starter home you could get for $125 - $130k is probably $250k today in the Nashville area.

Shoot, probably higher. With 30 year rates around 7%, all the buyers and those who refinanced at around 3% aren't going anywhere soon. Those loans are all reasonably serviceable, so they're staying put. We've been in our house 22 years, paid for and I'm not about to move. Not much inventory our there, rising debt, stubborn inflation and rising rates as a byproduct = continued rise in home values and rental rates. The consumer is screwed by the helpful politicians. More Gen Z and millennials are moving back in with parents because they can't get into apartments that are $1500 to $1900 per month, and that's just one bedrooms in a lot of places around here. We know of two people in their mid 50's, recently divorced that moved back in with their elderly parents and apparently that's a trend too. We will raise the debt limit yet again next time it comes around and for what? To keep making people poorer.

Because that was 70 years ago and the majority of people living in Iran have no member of that? The hate is fueled by so called religious leaders and despots.

Cartels Sending Migrant Mobs of Thousands to Overwhelm The US Border

Drug cartels are sieging the border by deliberately sending thousands of migrants a day to hand themselves over to Border Patrol officers in different US border towns, sources revealed to The Post.

The tactic is meant to tie up already overworked border agents so Mexico’s cartels can carry on their drug and human smuggling operations undisturbed in less populated areas, law enforcement officials explained.
