The union would hate the precedent that would set. Unions don't exist to maintain a high level of job quality among their members - they exist to defend the jobs and salaries of the employees who are a member of the union, especially those with lots of seniority.

I get it, but it amazes me how they've managed to hold MLB over a barrel. There can't be only 75 guys in America that can umpire a baseball game.

It's one of those epic performances by an RB that truly was a function of great play by both the RB and the O-line. A lot of huge games by RBs are mostly because of the O-line, and TS did have some huge holes to run through in that game, but he also picked up so many extra yards purely from his individual effort. Was just an incredible performance all the way around.

I believe that MLB hires the umpire and then the umpire can join the union
