Shouldn't apply to people working at home. They gain time by not commuting, and their actual time working cannot be accurately monitored. There are too many stories about people at home and "on the clock" when they are doing other stuff entirely. Granted people at the employer's jobsite may be slacking off, but it still isn't the same.

The inclusion of outside salesmen in the proposed rule is another crazy part of it. I don't know of any outside sales that aren't on some form of commission plan.

These people are idiots. Business isn’t going to simply pay everyone more. They’ll pay fewer people more, and expect more of them.

They want the salary threshold increased a whopping 55% from $36k up to $55k. And they’d like to get even dumber about it.

The proposal is likely to be met with praise from Democrats and worker advocates who had been pressing the administration to expand overtime protections to more workers, but doesn’t go as far as setting the salary threshold to $82,732 as some had suggested.
