A lot of the people over in the community where I teach talk about growing up eating banana and mayo sandwiches. I had never heard of that before I started talking to people over there.
You grew up in Middle or Western TN, right? I'm just curious if that was a thing when you were a kid.
@volfanbill You ever heard of people in the neck of the woods where you was raised eating banana and mayo sammiches?
also in some places, I've noticed people still say "pack of nabs" to refer to a pack of snack crackers, I guess because they were originally by Nabisco and were called that at one timeMiddle Tennessee, about 20 miles north of Nashville skraight up 65.
Yes, my mom made peanut butter, banana and mayo sammiches on a regular basis.
My father, born in 27 and from SW Virginia called them "nabs". What today is typically a six pck of crackers with peanut butter or other filling. I had never thought of the reference being to Nabisco.also in some places, I've noticed people still say "pack of nabs" to refer to a pack of snack crackers, I guess because they were originally by Nabisco and were called that at one time
My parents call them Nabs, as do several people here in the foothills of rural NC. Naw man, I put about 6 ounces on there and then dip it in a bowl of mayo, kinda just scoop up a nice portion like a potato chip and dip. Let it run down my arms to my elbows.I can get behind peanut butter and bananas. For whatever reason they just are meant to be together. But i draw the line at mayo
N. AL here. That's the way I started eating Mayo.tl;dr
