The Atlanta Braves

And the KC Covington dude.

There’s more knowledge and hot takes dropped in here than any of those Braves sites ha
No doubt.

Bowman and DOB went to big J school (shoutout DOBoner) and are legacy beat writers. The Toscano kid busts his tail and puts out good stuff. It’s a more traditional sports columnist. McAlphin is nice enough and paid his dues on the radio side but none of those guys “add” anything at all.

That’s not even getting to the McAuley, Willis, the minor league guy, etc. of the world. I still think @zjcvols should be podcasting. If you’re good at something and you show up every day, you’ll eventually monetize it. Hell, if you hit a hungry enough market, you don’t even have to be good! (See: Almost everyone who covers sports)

I should have stayed in school. Watching Grant McAuley and Kevin McAlpin fawn over Elder and not understanding one iota why people are skeptical about him makes me realize how easy it is to cover a baseball team locally
It's all either state-run or state-influenced media. McAuley works for a radio station that broadcasts the games and McAlpin is employed by the team/league.

It's like tuning into Chinese media and expecting to hear balanced, nuanced takes on the CCP's human rights record. It ain't gonna happen. The organizations those guys work for make money by having access to the team or are owned directly by the team.

That sounds like a great argument for independent media, but increasingly those sources are clickbait sites dishing out hot takes for the sake of hot takes.
