I wouldn’t say that players absolutely wouldn’t have come without him, but there were players in Vic Wharton’s class that definitely were pushed over the top by his influence. No telling what could have been if he had kept his hands to himself.

Even if a player is largely responsible for another player coming here, they rarely say it that way in post-commitment interviews. They say better answers like the coaches, the program, the culture, etc. They never outright say "Well, I was going to go to another school but player X convinced me to come here instead".

But with how much these kids interact with each other on social media and in high school and the camp circuit, peer recruiting is hugely influential.

Yeah I think if we were loaded in the secondary from a talent perspective, coaches might have started him out on offense.
