The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

If you think less than 3 years in age makes me a boomer and not you then your just dumb, at least acid love trips gives me an excuse.

My god, you're only 53? You have enough butthurt packed into your VN posts for a man of 67, easy. I assumed you'd seen sh*t.

You acted like a man who earned that 1,000 yard stare.

I actually feel even worse for you now.

The only thing worse would be their absence.
Hi Luther! I know you are a teacher lol.. I’m not saying pitch them all out the window.. but I am saying clean them up 😂 but I would prefer a flat tax instead of annual 20 some odd pages of taxes every year.. it just seems so unnecessary for a regular person lol.. it’s just all very bloated as well imo.. modifications to streamline things and make them less partisan are a win for everyone

The exit polls were within the margin of error at the end.

It's a common fallacy that she was polling in landslide numbers on election day as many of the MAGA trumpers would have us all believe.

I didn't say landslide numbers.

But nobody expected Trump to carry Michigan or Pennsylvania. And the polls in Wisconsin and Florida were almost a dead tie.

Point being, nobody thought Trump had a chance. And nobody flipped their vote from Clinton to Trump because of that report.

Comey’s letter came about one week after the third presidential debate and less than two weeks before Election Day. At that time, most polling averages showed Mrs. Clinton ahead by around six percentage points in national polls. A week later, her lead had declined to three points.

The three-point shift against her is often attributed to Mr. Comey’s letter — three points being more than enough to cover Donald J. Trump’s narrow margins in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. He won each state by less than 0.8 percentage points.

Late-deciding voters broke overwhelmingly for Mr. Trump, the exit polls showed, and the Comey letter and its disclosure of new information in the email investigation was a significant part of the news coverage over the last week of the election.

Hell, I thought you were older than him, until you stated calling him boomer.

You are aware that Trump has been getting massive rules changes for the Repub primary? He and DeSantis are in a fight right now over the California rules. Trying to fix the primaries (which he is going to win anyway).

And as someone who is getting up in years I know that in my lifetime what you accuse the Dems of didn't happen. If anyone could have fixed the nomination it would have been LBJ and he lost to JFK.

So, nice try.

Not talking primaries; I'm talking about the convention, super delegates, and the convention rules. It seems there is always some shady stuff going on.

From what I recall it was overestimating HRC turnout and underestimating his, which was caused by a number of factors, including enthusiasm and manner of polling (cell phones versus land line, etc). A lot of pollsters made significant changes after 2016 to account for all of it.

If the FBI and DOJ had done what should have been done, Hiliary wouldn't have even been a candidate. They basically admitted she screwed up with respect to national security; in fact, the evidence says she just did whatever the hell she wanted and ignored rules and rational behavior. Honestly it seemed like Comey was doing her a favor by saying she screwed up but it wasn't so bad instead of leaving the matter in the wind to be used against her. Sure the timing was bad for her; it could have been better if she didn't have people trying to cover for her.

Its admittedly an inexact science but when HRC lost unexpectedly she called Trump and conceded within a day. Trump lost to Biden, which was acknowledged to be a very close race, and to this day Trump acts like a 4 year old that didn't get his way, throwing a tantrum at every opportunity.

Lulz at the "but, but, but Trump!" move.

The original post was about something the writer claimed the Dems do and I gave a current Repub example. I did include DeSantis by the way, in case you didn't notice. But there have been a lot of rules changes pushed by Trump going into this cycle.

The last time a Dem did it at this level was McGovern. He went as far as getting the entire Illinois delegation headed by Richard Dailey kicked out of the convention. What a stupid idea. Everybody hated him for that and I don't think he even carried his home state.

In the end it shows how paranoid Nixon was. There was no reason for him to do Watergate, he was never going to lose to McGovern.

Ironically, I'll bet you Repubs don't know that of the last five Presidential nominees to have combat experience, three were Dems. Kerry (Navy riverine unit in Vietnam), John McCain (A-4 Naval Aviator and POW in Vietnam), HW Bush (Avenger Naval Aviator in WW2), McGovern (B-24 pilot in WW2) and JFK (Navy PT Boat Commander).

FYI, I don't count Barry Goldwater. He flew planes as a ferry pilot in SE Asia during WW2. While it was hazardous duty, I don't count it as combat. But I have huge respect for him despite our political differences. He and John McCain are missed for their ability to hold the joint chiefs feet to the fire, especially in force design. McCain is the only reason the A-10 was there for Iraq/ Afghanistan.

It's unfortunate that much of McCain's POW debrief is still classified. I read it in SERE School. Incredible. I met him a couple of years after that. I was a Navy Lieutenant having finished my first fleet tour. I just stood there shaking his hand like an idiot. Probably what Orangeburst feels like every day.

I guess you haven't heard about the DNC working to change primary dates and procedures at the behest of Biden?

That seems like an opinion piece you snagged from somewhere.

Watergate had very little to do with McGovern. Actually, McGovern was who Nixon wanted as an opponent

I believe the actual burglary of the Watergate was after the nomination. Haven't verified it.

You need to watch the HBO series "White House Plumbers." It's really funny and over the top except Justin Theroux absolutely channels G. Gordon Liddy. Read his book "Will" several years ago. What a wack job. Harrelson plays E. Howard Hunt as a buffoon and that wasn't the case. He had been a successful CIA agent for many years before he saw politics as an opportunity to make money.

Most Presidents and nominees up until Obama had military service of some sort. It was actually the norm rather than the exception these days.

And McCain wasn't the only one pushing to keep the A-10 around. Plenty of politicians on both sides of the aisle worked to keep it in the fleet. Too bad the USAF are idiots...
