The NYTimes has a story today about MAGA and Trump, the upshot of which is that MAGA refuses to believe that trump does anything wrong. Only 2 percent of MAGA in a poll believed he "did anything wrong" on the classified documents case. They just don't care--and thus are quite an embarrassing segment of the U.S. population. When a PRESIDENT not only tries to subvert an election through blatant lies but incites an attack on the U.S. Capitol that gets people killed, and his supporters don't care, you know those supporters have jumped the reality shark. People above have suggested that trump's populist message has resonated with people who have been left behind financially. But that's not really the heart of his appeal. His real appeal is, as I mention above, is to people with deeply found bigotry---namely bigotry against immigrants, gays and blacks. That's the heart of trump appeal to Maga.

I was just explaining to you how we ended up with Trump wining the 2016 nomination. And it's people like you that will to be to blame if he's able to pull off a miracle and win it again next year, remember your post about Ramswamy isn't qualified to be and POTUS and wouldn't be able to do the job within the bounds of the constitution? I would argue that those things are not debatable as opinion. He undermined most of if not all of the institutions within the government that could hold him accountable and was impeached twice by Congress. His lies about the results of the election set the groundwork for the unprecedented acts of his supporters on January 6th. Are you suggesting he didn't or hasn't tried to undermine or discredit the DOJ, the CIA, the FBI, countless sitting judges, Congress, the media, private citizens while alienating almost every cabinet member that saw his work product? Oh and he gave us Fauci and a bigger deficit.
