-16 with strokes gained on 14 of 18 holes, including 2 eagles. Hopefully some continued vindication this weekend for the last 2-3 weeks.

I think the bigger question for Hofman is how does a tour player turn in a card with 6 bogies, 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 birdies for a +15 round.
Been there:mad:........it's the IDGAF......get me outa here mentality. ;)

Then turn around and finish top 10 the next week..............stupis a$$ game sometimes.

As my handicap never got below 11, I can definitely relate to having used that mentality. BTW Since you are now in ATL, you really, really should drive up to Hartwell and play Cateechee. You will absolutely not be displeased. 142 slope rating. Crenshaw Bentgrass greens. Tift 419 fairways. THat's where I had my 11 handicap years ago. One of the finest courses in the state. Especially when the weather has it in plush condition. WE've played it the day after aerating the greens and still rolled like glass.

I've heard it's really good. I still live in franklin, but have family in the ATL.

That course is a challenge. They designed it into the topography and it is a registered bird sanctuary as well. The lay of the land lends some holes to standard southern tree lined holes, and some to links style holes. Only the fittest can walk it.

Definitely gotten a couple golf carts airborne
One time at Elizabethton, we got a golf cart slightly airborne while doing a 360 and somehow made single figure 8 in the wet grass. Not sure how we didn’t die, or at least flip the thing
dude in the same group as we were flipped one on #18 at Graysburg in that little creek bed
well it used to be #18
I guess it's #9 on Chimney Top now

Going to guess you mean 9 on Fodderstack? Like right in front of the tee box?

As in the part of this hole you can’t see due to the elevation drop off the tee box?

For reference, this was taken exactly a week ago

yes right at the bottom of the hill before you start up
Yes, Fodderstack
When these courses start naming each 9 (or renumbering holes aka Old Island), I get so confused.
Knobs: old front
Fodderstack: old back - and old #13 is brutal
Chimney Top: new nine
I use the names after the : hahaha

Everyone I know just calls chimney top the extra nine. Even Fred called it that when he started me on it last week due to a tourney being played

I actually birdied 13 the week before the fourth. Made par there last week. Such a simple looking hole, but the incline to the multiple undulating green can really screw you over

How is Fred? He was good to me on my junior membership when I broke my leg in 84. A lot of people don't like him, but I like him a lot.
Also, do you know if Buster is still mowin down there?
I remember when a lot of those trees were saplings and that little creek moved pretty swiftly.

Fred doesn’t look like he’s aged at all. He was incredible to my friends and I in college. We payed $525/year for a walking membership from ‘01-‘04. Seemed to be doing really well. I don’t recognize any of the mowers anymore

And on your walking membership, I'll wager that four of you (four of us in the 80s) could play nine faster than most twosomes out there in carts now.
I remember the first time it ever took me 2.5 hours to play nine. It was at Steele Creek (old, when it was on two sides of the road). We thought that was crazy.
One of the things I like about Fred is how he will tell people to pick up the pace (or used to do that).

We would typically tee off around 7am, walk 27, and be headed home a little after 12. lol Fred’s wife would put the hot dogs in early so we could eat one after the second nine.

There was one foursome that would pass us (they were in three carts) almost always after we teed off of 13. There was a senior that told us every day when we were 81 we could tee off from the senior tees too. Never figured out if he said that every day on purpose or that he legitimately never remembered us 😂😂😂. He looked like how I imagine David Duvall will look at 81.

Fred would also let us be the dewbusters on holidays when we weren’t supposed to get to use our membership, especially walking. We were told if any group got even remotely close to having to wait on us, we would have to walk off the course. Fwiw, it never happened. We were teeing off in near darkness those mornings!

Any of you peeps from Nooga ever played Windstone? When I interned with the AJGA, I got to use a cart without a governor the day of the Junior am to drive around and take pictures. I feel like I got close to breaking the sound barrier a couple times going down those hills. Also met John Becksvoort that day. This was in 2007. It totally freaked him out that anyone would know who he was.
