In little league…. It turns into teaching kids to slow down their mechanics/ aim the ball to just throw strikes. I get in arguments with coaches that I help coach with all the time…. They tell me that they would rather lose giving up hits than walks… I tell them that I would rather win….Teach kids to throw as hard as they can(not over throw) and become a pitcher. My son is playing All-Stars…. He is a pitcher/Catcher…. Our number 4 starter told my son he has four pitches…. Fast ball…. Change up…. Curveball… and a fast fastball…. My son asked what a fast fastball is and I told him that it is just a fastball that he actually pitches… it is so hard to change that thought process as the get older.

I always tried to get them to focus on proper mechanics.
It killed me to get a kid with horrible mechanics from another coach who had already grooved the bad mechanics and were having elbow and/or shoulder issues at age 12-13. Made me want to harm those coaches and parents who put winning a little league game over the health of a kid. I mean seriously why would anyone think that that level of game was that important. So many of those kids quit playing because it was painful and not fun.

Medical fact: an Engram is a learned series of actions that has become “automatic.” It takes approximately 1,000 reps for the activity to be ingrained.
If it’s bad mechanics and you need to fix it, it takes 3,000 reps of a correction to just break the bad habit. Then another 1,000 reps to truly ingrain the correct way.

No little league parent would invest that time when their kid “could pitch” 😐

So this lady Claudia Ackley was found dead in her home. She was 51.

She claimed to have recorded Bigfoot in 2017 and the Parks and Wildlife Commission told her she saw a bear. She didn't like that, so she sued California to somehow prove her sighting.

Do yall see anything in this video at all? A bear? A bigfoot? Do you think the government or MiB helped escort her out?

Mitch said "The reason we can't find Bigfoot is because he is blurry".

All I ever see when you talk about sports is “win”

Hope you aren’t too overbearing with your kid when it comes to sports. He may quit once HS is over. Never know. Don’t take it too seriously…..right now

This.

I tore a ligament in my elbow at the age of 13 cause my coaches cared more about winning and less about our arms

I had a few D1 scholarships coming out of HS for baseball. I quit playing after we won state my senior year. The whole practicing from 3:30 after school till 9 everyday from summer till the state championships wasn’t for me. I’d wake some morning and my arms would feel like they were about to just fall off. Maybe it wasn’t the sport itself and just coach.

What I’m saying is, a lot of people take the sport too seriously early which can ruin it for your kids once they get into HS/older ages.

I am all about what I perceive as proper mechanics…. Always studying and adjusting if I feel like it needs to be corrected…. It’s been a struggle fixing my sons swing for that reason….It drives me crazy hearing these little league coaches tell kids to nail the ball into the ground…. It might help win a game but it doesn’t help the kid become a better hitter.

My son wants to eventually play college baseball but it’s not about that…. We both love the sport and it’s awesome spending time with my son playing ball.

When UF gives you a bigger punishment than the state. This guy was caught dead to rights. It's documented. DAs don't plead cases like that because those are the ones there's no risk of losing. This only happens when Dad is rich and famous. If you wouldn't do it for Joe Noone who comes from a crappy neighborhood and has zero influence, you ought to be flogged for doing it for a guy with enough wealth and influence to survive a guilty verdict and still have a life after his time's served.
He's a POS and he didn't even have to dodge the book. They threw the pamphlet at him. Embarrassing.

What were they doing that caused the ligament tear?

Everyone thinks, and mostly correct, that this dude is a Moran.

Wonder what VN thinks of his list this time?:)

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut on occasion. 😂

I’m just in awe that someone ranked us #3. I don’t care that osu and michigan are ahead of us. I totally care that uga and bama are ranked way below us. It’s been way too long.

And as always

15-0 🤠

You can’t get a good feel for people’s true feelings from a few message board posts….My pet peeves have all been about teaching kids bad habits to try and win a little league game…. Teaching kids to slow down to throw strikes instead of teaching them how to pitch…. Teaching kids to hit the ball into the ground instead of proper swing mechanics…. My sons little league team finished 3rd out 4 teams and in travel ball…. He plays with his buddies bc that is what he would rather do instead of the better organization that asked him to play… I just want him being taught to do things the correct way.

You are correct about over doing it…. It’s a challenge knowing the right amount of practice to grow as a player versus just being a kid.

I apologize if I came off as douche.

I honestly just hate when kids end up falling out of love with sports, mostly because it happened to me. I’m sure you’re a great father to your kid, and I’m sure he is an even better athlete.

Do you guys play in East Cobb a lot? I remember those travel ball days going down there and playing, best times.

I don't know about bigfoot but saw at least 2 copperheads

If we miss out on Warren, Satterwhite, and Rushing…

I forgot to get my new prescription of BVS pills.

Yeah, would lend to the notion of 'not closing.' Too many 'greatest visits,' and 'in it for elite players.' We can close more than 50% of the time, we have that capability.

Would be the worst July fools ever

Not only just them, but people were also acting like Mike Matthews was about to pull the trigger. Now it feels like there's hesitancy. I mean even Spillman has been dragging it out for months now. Leading for several months means nothing if they aren't willing to commit and keep taking visits.

It’s called travel ball but it’s really higher level little league…. We mainly play in and around Charlotte/SC…. The other team that was talking to him probably travels to East Cobb…. I just want him to enjoy right now as long as he is improving…. He will have to play on a higher level team in a couple years if that is still his goal…. I don’t get offended easily and have been around parents like mentioned…. I have been that parent as well at different times… I have to keep myself in check.
