Official Fourth of July Thread

Thank you for being you. In your quest to demonstrate your superiority you show your stupidity.

Joe wasn't in Hawaii and you damn well knew what he was talking about and also knew that he didn't know that "In Hawaiian, "Ahi" refers to two types of tuna - yellowfin and bigeye. It does not refer to a method of preparing/cooking the fish."
Careful. Your true colors are showing, and it’s not attractive.

Did you forget I don't care?

Tossing aside Behr’s usual rude intersection, I did seek an answer from you.
Answer my question. What else do you think he would be talking about? We've all talked about this a gazillion times before. Rare is not a description of ahi tuna, so why would you include that in your question?

I'll be glad to have this conversation without being rude.

My mom and grandpa always used brown sugar in theirs. That's how we roll in the south
My mom made them different ways and I don't remember all the details, but I remember her using sorghum molasses, maple syrup, brown sugar, mustard, ketchup, smoked sausage, bacon on top and onions. Not all of that in the same batch obviously.

My dad and his dad used to buy a whole hog and make their own sausage, ham, bacon, rinds etc. His dad had a smokehouse he smoked the sausage and hams in. That sausage was to die for.

Brown sugar and garlic buttery parmesan shrimp will change your life. Brown sugar and butter grilled cheese sandwich is sweet cheesy goodness. Pork chops sautéed in brown sugar and butter and finished with smoked gouda and bacon is double Pork goodness. Cream cheese and brown sugar makes an awesome dip for fruit. Honey baked ham has either regular sugar or brown sugar and a ham and cheese sandwich may be one of the most popular sammiches they is.

Oh wait, you don't like any of those anyway. Lulz
I actually used to like all that and hate that I don’t anymore. Okay, I’ll say it to myself. Lulz

No storms down there today?
Not like Joe and his friend had the other day. I heard from a friend they thought they were tough guys and Joe was gonna fish anyway but the little boy told his dad he was scared for lil Joe so don't let him go. Joe was gonna get a cooler full of fish and take it on the run before anyone could get any.

Yep, my grandfather used to raise a couple of hogs every year, and he gave the meat to his adult children at Christmas time. One of the best memories of my childhood in the 50s and 60s.
My father had been raised on that meat, and really didn't care for store bought pork.

They raised some pigs on our farm, but I was young and don't remember how long or why they stopped. I was like 11 or 12 when they started buying a whole one and they did that up until my early 20's, which would have been 1975 to 1984. Or somewhere in that area.

Yeah, great memories.
