'24 AZ EDGE Elijah Rushing (Oregon commit)

Oregon seems like the program to beat for the No. 8 prospect in the rankings, Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic edge rusher Elijah Rushing, but Arizona is still firmly in the picture and Tennessee took a swing this past weekend. Notre Dame also got an official. He’ll commit on July 6 during a live broadcast of the 247Sports Recruiting Show.

Francis Mauigoa.
I don’t think our NIL is as good as a lot of this fanbase thinks. If it was we would’ve done much better in the portal than we did this past season Mauigoa would be a Vol and so would Davison Igbinosun and Andrei Cornelius. I don’t think this is entirely on NIL though as much as it is this guy is from the west and for his entire life Oregon has been the premier brand west of the great planes. Mauigoa, DI, and AC are completely different though and money is the only reason we didn’t land them

are you serious? We literally got a blue chip WR in the portal, from UOrg, this past off season. A veteran left tackle, veteran G, veteran LB, veteran CB, veteran TE and a veteran DL, all transfer portal. All proven players

Seems more likely we offer a very competitive package but the recruit can’t be all about only the $$. Heupel prob slots value for certain guys/positions and stays out of back and forth bidding wars even if someone else comes in and offers more.

Recruit has to show they’re also bought in and not just bought.

At least that’s how it works in my mind. Gotta remember Heup is a culture guy above all else.

or a lot of you have unrealistic expectations of them.

Rushing is vs Oregon
Nwarei is against Georgia and Oklahoma
Franklin is against UF and OM
Jefferson is against Bama
Spillman is Ohio State
Wingo is Michigan and Texas
Matthews is Clemson and USC

notice anything about that list of our top wants, specifically about the competition?

There isn't a single repeat for our top competition. which means you are expecting our collective to be better than all the other combined collectives. Its not like Georgia is taking every player we want, and with a school like OM they are probably going all in on Franklin, where we have options, and going all in on one player would be dumb, and would likely lose us out to the rest.

Which of those players are you willing to just give up on to ensure more money to the others to win?

Franklin feels more like we’re up against Auburn and Miami at this point imo.

Still think we lead here?

For Franklin, if he committed today I think it’d be us. But it’s by no means a lock at this point imo. But we have a great shot. I think he commits in august so we just have to fend off others for a month or so.

We pull this off and we got a top 3 class for sure
Wouldn't say that. I played around with the class calculator and to get the #5 class (using last year's final rankings as reference), we'd have to get everyone on our current board but Jordan Ross, Elijah Rushing, and Williams Nwaneri if you want to count him

I was thinking two of the three between Kam Franklin, Jordan Ross, and Elijah Rushing. Unfortunately not even considering Nwaneri
