The Atlanta Braves

They’re all crazy, crazy rich. I’ve never been in that position or locker room, but it’s probably not on their radar as much as we act like it is.

Everybody wants to be paid what they think they're worth regardless of the amounts of money being thrown around. It's also all relative.

A french fry cook at McDonalds might think that a guy who makes $100k but was pushing to make $125k at an office job was being greedy and unreasonable. Relative to what Ronald makes (I'm assuming), we're the french fry cooks.

Not to say they don’t think about — I’m sure they do. Just not as much as fans think. Ultimately, they all sign the contract, like Brown said. Ronnie is set for life already and will make another several hundred million by the time he’s done.

And while I don’t think Ronnie signs another contract, I bet the Braves can make it right if they extend Ozzie to a worthy extension.

On a day to day basis, no, I don't think he thinks about it. But I guarantee you Ronald noticed, and didn't like it, when Riley, et al signed their deals and will remember it when a pay day rolls around again.

I agree in a vacuum but pride is a crazy thing brother

Ronnie at least got $100M guaranteed, the only other 21 year old athlete in the US to get that was Kevin Garnett and Connor McDavid. So yes I’m sure seeing J-Rod’s deal, the current landscape, and others have made since have led to buyers remorse. But at the time, for a dude that got 100K signing bonus, it made complete sense to take it.

Now Ozzie on the other hand…

I wouldn’t say complete sense he took the safe bet and no one can blame the man for that. Good for him.

Ohtani on the other hand bet on himself and turned down 100 million and is about to PUNCH IN ha

These clubs (right or wrong I don’t know) def cash in on the circumstances of young Latin players. Great example is Acuna and Riley.

So, Tatis got 14/340..... They're both very similar players and the metrics actually rate Tatis as a better RF( I don't believe it) Ronald might want more but honestly a deal in line with what Tatis got is fair.

Ronald’s contract is ridiculous, yes

But there are other factors. Ronald will sign another massive contract and still hit FA in his prime. Austin will not. This is his only deal.

Austin was also closer to free agency I believe and definitely bought out more free agency years.

You are talking years from now. The dollars are going to keep going up. Soto and Ohtani about to raise the bar

A) That was a dumb ass contract
B) that’s his entire career

When Ronald signs another contract at age 30/31 he will blow these guys out of the water in total earnings

Ronnie could easily get $400M on a new deal. And get $524M for his career. That’s not hurting lol
