The Atlanta Braves

If he wasn’t such a pretentious *******, he easily could have been a DH for another 3 years. But his knees were shot and he couldn’t play the field.
He would have ended up with over 800. He was only 38 away. I think he totally could have played at least 2 more years and hit ~25 both years, assuming he kept juicing.

Well he wasn’t juicing in 06/07. Baseball had put in stringent drug testing by that point. Or he was doing an incredible job hiding it. Baseball would have loved to slap a 50 game suspension and prevented him from getting the record.

Guys who juiced have talked about it. They woke up every morning feeling fresh, not like they'd played 15 days in a row. Minimal aches and pains, fatigue, etc.
So, just my 2 cents. But I actually don't mind guys juicing. If they want to destroy their bodies let them.
Give me juiced guys and the ball from 2019 (I think that was the insane seasln) and let's see a 100 homer regular season.
So many eyes would be glued to the game.

Couldn't the cream and the clear still get around it at that time?

I’ll be 100% honest, I don’t know what they were testing for at the time, but I thought they were using IOC style testing.

I know they told the players to start getting off of it in 2004/2005, then enforced stricter penalties/testing starting in 2006

Kinda new to this side of the Forum. I seen on Friday that the Braves are the betting favorite to land Shohei Ohtani when the bidding war starts. What would the braves have to give up to be able to afford a 500+ million dollar super star contract?

The Braves wouldn’t have to give up anything other than a draft pick.

I can’t imagine the Braves would give any player that much money. And everything points to the Dodgers for Ohtani (although I wouldn’t count out Seattle).

I cant find that site i looked at now. Everywhere im looking now says dodgers. The mets need to sacrifice everything for him. Their bullpen is terrible.
