There are many layers to why it makes no sense and won’t happen but the one most people are overlooking is Paul Skenes saying “nah, I’m good” like the LSU coach has any ability to make him pitch.

It kind of reminds me of my grandfather. He's a big football fan, but I remember him saying when I was a kid that the reason he didn't like baseball is because "those guys could pitch every day if they wanted to." He thought the reason starters didn't just pitch every single game is because they got paid a lot and were lazy.

I won't argue with that at all, just sometimes when dudes are gamers you gotta keep them from themselves.

I think Skenes would absolutely jog down to the pen tonight for an inning or two.

Not sure he *will*, though. They want him coming back around if they get the opportunity to try to take 2 from Wake (they won't).

Imo the best thing that could happen for the good guys tonight is beating these bums from their pen up, and not burning Halverson. Then have Seth start tomorrow and Lindsey start Thursday.

No. He's fine against mid week competition but anytime he's faced anybody decent he's gotten hit. I don't want him anywhere near the mound in an elimination game.

Sechrist as an 3/4 option in your 4th game is actually amazing.
