Random, Thoughts, X,XXIV

Mr. Lonelyheart, aka Bob the Lightning Bug, aka one of his surviving kinfolk, is flying around the deck and veg garden. He still doesn't seem to have any lady friends (or gennulmen friends, this being AVL) to keep him company, but at least there's still one.

I remember as a kid, 60 years ago, going out at dusk with an empty mayo jar and collecting dozens of fireflies in an hour or so, letting them light up in my room that evening before I let them go again.

What a loss to children of all ages. (Not to mention the lightning bugs.)
--Whoa, another one just lit up out by the fence! Bob immediately zoomed off to check things out!

They know they can sell Camry’s for almost a new price if they have a clean car fax, one owner and low miles.

Toyota is only getting a certain amount of cars each month also. So right now, they are selling more used cars than new cars. As soon as they get a new car it’s sold.

I probably saw a thousand last night in our yard.

Usually all you recover is rusty nothing.....something really interesting about the metalergy and/or burial conditions on that one. Either that or we found Excalibur.

I worked for a cutlery/sword company in a previous life.....the owner was a bit of an expert on the history and archeology of swords... we used to have very interesting conversations and often it always ended with, "we don't actually know because no weapons from that era have survived intact."
