Mom and Dad have lived at the same address since 1967. After 56 years, today was the day they had their first bear sighting.

My grandfather built the house in which mom was born. When she and dad got married, they continued to live there with my grandmother and built the house in 1971 directly beside it.
Two summers ago was the first time they had seen a deer in the yard.
