Question I was asked yesterday that I couldn't answer due to not being up on all the seedings and matchups etc....How does a 1 seed OU play a 16 seed Clemson.....A 4 seed UT plays a good seed Texas etc.....But some seeded teams like Utah get unseeded SDS....Washington gets a unseeded Louisiana...etc?

Because it is a tournament bracket, and they do not reseed if there are upsets in the earlier rounds. Washington got Louisiana because they upset LSU and took their spot in the bracket. Same for San Diego state winning the regional at UCLA.

SDS came out of the UCLA (#2 seed) region and Louisiana came out of the LSU (#10) region. Sometimes a team like Utah gets really lucky

Utah definitely got lucky, but they seem like a good team that could give some teams a hard time. Lopez looks legit & their offense when on is good.

Which is why a Bama TN matchup isn’t a bad thing for the audience both programs will bring. If we can’t beat a one legged Fouts we don’t need to worry about Bahl.

First thing first. Bama was not and is not a 5 seed, Bama got it because of ESPN and the head of the selection committee is from the state of Alabama. They should have been a 10 seed at best.

Two runs erased in the Utah/SDSU game (one for each team) because batters had their foot an inch out of the box.

I especially hate it given umps have pretty much completely stopped calling illegal pitches.

Here is my opinion on it, I certainly don’t like it because you’re penalizing a slapper for trying to hit the outside pitch. Let’s say an umpire is giving the pitcher a river pitch how is a batter supposed to hit that without stepping out??? Idk what the solution is but I think it’s a stupid rule

Things change but we scored runs on Fouts all year. It was the pitcher they are not even using now that gave us fits. I have not watched ever pitch but Fouts can’t throw her sinker and is basically limited to fastball/rise. I’ll take our chances if comes down to it.

The whole slapper thing drives the former baseball player in me crazy. I’m like just stay in the box and hit the ball. Wouldn’t a drag bunt be just as effective without the risk of being called out for stepping out of the box?

Don’t disagree on the 8-10 spot projection where fans think they should be. So, not sure about first things first. Based on your last part it seems Tennessee should want Bama. Tennessee takes of itself the Bama seeding is a non-issue.
