Cool so the deep sea fishing trip is on you. Got it.Contracting / consulting basically the same thing in my case. Part time work at an hourly rate I’m likely not worth.
Oh the pay isn’t the problem. Since I’m part time hourly contract with no benefits I negotiated a rate I wouldn’t be willing to pay me. I’m just wondering if I’m really ready to go back and deal with the dumbassery that is corporate America is allIf you haven't signed a contract yet, you can still fix this. Tell them you've decided your pay-rate needs to be increased by 50% in order for you to return.
Pay is always the problem. If you don't really want to return, it's simply a matter of placing a higher value on your services than they do. Ask for 2X or more of the pay your were previously getting. If they balk, no problem. You didn't really want to return anyway. If they don't balk, then maybe the pay will be high enough that you don't mind returning.Oh the pay isn’t the problem. I was supposed to return start of Feb. Then I had a health issue that caused a delay, then the company went thru some “right sizing” activity, now I’m on deck to go back again.

I don’t know that I don’t want to return. If we all abide by the guard rails we both laid out it would be enjoyable. But since I worked there before and know the dysfunction first hand…Pay is always the problem. I told them nominally just two days a week. If those are busy days and we’re there 10 or 12 hours as long as we’re productive fine. If it’s slow and nothing to do after a couple of hours fine I’ll go play golf. If we need to run over into a third day occasionally fine. But nominally two days within the Tues-Thurs mid week block. How many hours per week?
