They line up on the DL like a traditional DE, but they can have their hand in the dirt or be standing. They can rush the QB or drop back in pass coverage. This is a very basic summary.

This kid reminds me of the DEs that Michigan keeps putting into the NFL. A relentless, high motor guy that brings maximum intensity play after play for 4 quarters with a 6'5-6'6 frame.

^. Best way I could say it I guess is what you think of like a 3-4 edge rusher. That was Byron Young last year. Will be Joshua Josephs/James Pearce Jr/Roman Harrison this year, etc. LEOs for us are the stand-up edge rushers if that makes sense. SDE are the bigger ends that will have their hand in the dirt like Tyler Baron. @bigl3327 explained it pretty well
