Try a blow dryer plugged in a different outlet (Good Lord I’m talking to you like Joe does) and blow in the holes and leave it alone for a few days. That’s the best my meds will let me advise.Good idea @VolNExile, thanks will do
Ha ha you mean take it outside, plug it in and run...lol, oh I will probably just get a new one, I am paranoid anywayI honestly don't know! But a microwave is a kitchen appliance, and I would think that it would be designed to survive this sort of thing, as long as the wiring doesn't have any breaks in insulation. (I mean, you'd think so, right? This is the country that puts signs on ladders telling you not to walk under them.)
I suppose you could let it continue to dry out, and tomorrow get a surge protector (the cord that we should all be plugging our electronics into), take it and the microwave outside, plug in the microwave (to the surge protector), and hit Start. Take pictures!
(I am seriously sleep-deprived and about to pack it in, and I'll probably be horrified when I re-read this in the morning.)
Haha, a sleep-depriver poster and a poster on (prescribed) pain-killers giving electrical safety advice! Whew, I'm going to bed.Try a blow dryer plugged in a different outlet (Good Lord I’m talking to you like Joe does) and blow in the holes and leave it alone for a few days. Last thought about the Great Water-in-the-Microwave Saga: if you have any local churches/groups that are helping refugees get settled or locals who get burned out of their homes, you could donate it to them with a sticker explaining the situation. It's probably fine to use as is, but if they're interested, there's bound to be someone in their group who'd be willing to take the back off, dry out any remaining water, and check it out. $80 for a new microwave is chump change for many, but it's a huge amount for someone owning little more than the clothes on their back.Ha ha you mean take it outside, plug it in and run...lol, oh I will probably just get a new one, I am paranoid anyway
