They should have drafted another lineman. They couldn't protect against anyone.
So, they thought, Levis was used to taking sacks and he brings solid meme-worthy looks crying when he loses. And if the fans walk away, there will still be a boatload of loser fans of loser football streaming south across the Kentucky border to strut around Nashburg. It's like feeding pigeons.

I'm starting to understand why the Titans did what they did.

One thing the writer got wrong is that it doesn't use past data inputs or backtesting.

Once he didn't get picked in the top 5 or 10 the model shifted completely. It only took 1 or 2 teams not taking him to change a lot it seems.

I do find it interesting how much people dismiss long odds though. I always wonder how many folks thought we'd win 4 games in 2017. Less than 1%? .1%? Prolly. Or TCU making the playoffs? Or us being ranked #1 at any point? Crazy things happen more than many think. Some stock folks make tons on options exploiting this human statistical bias.

Not saying the model is good or bad. Idk enough about it to be fair. It's pretty new, so not sure who does. It also got a lot right, the other side that has to be balanced. It's all interesting though.

Personally I like the narrative he just dropped a lot in historic fashion so I'd rather not kill it 😆😅

I’d guarantee that NFL teams employ data scientists and have ML algos to use as another input into their process, but I agree, the real change becomes when you can have AI give another interpretation of the eye test. Essentially a virtual scout that gives input to the real scouts and helps them analyze players and how they fit into their schemes.
"Player A has shown too much human emotion. Weakness. Do not take"

"Player B moves like robot. Good player"

😅

Don’t give Deadspin a click but this kind of stuff is ridiculous.

Some of the points were not wrong (past disparagement of black QBs in the NFL and bias).

But the headline is downright clickbait. I get the writer is flipping the past on its head with the headline, but will fly past too many heads to be insightful...it's just going to end up inflammatory.

It’s just a racist, and sexist outlet now…. Absolute trash!

Why are they not ecstatic about CT? The injury?
I was just reading team's Reddit pages, but I am attributing it to the general pessimism with the Browns fanbase. They also had no picks in the 1st 2 rounds iirc. Funny enough, those that watched his highlight reel couldn't stop complimenting Hooker's throws to Tillman

I think the new lady that owns the Titans wants to move the franchise, so she is purposefully tanking this draft. That is the only reasonable explanation for drafting Levi's and a RB with no knees.
I thought about that too. That's the only way the titans picks make any sense. Was she the one in the Oiler's hat last night?

* kind of like Major League
