NFL quarterbacking will forever be a top heavy area, with 15+ teams happy to upgrade each year. Take 5 "top QBs" for a decade and there's 50 QBs for 32 teams. Then add in all the misfits, there's another couple hundred and some will work out. And out of those few hundred, only 10 are really loved at the NFL level.

But go ahead and take Levis rather than a 10-15 year pro career at left tackle. 😆

These are the follks that need to be getting outed. You can't pull scholarships, especially with guaranteed multiyear scholarships that have been around for 8 years now in the A5/Power 5 conferences. It is protected. Total BS.

The problem is that with the rookie deals now it's so much more profitable to try and hit on the franchise QB every draft.

Lots of super bowl teams have had QBs still on their rookie deals it's actually more cost efficient than what the Jets are trying to do.

They used to be, in some ways.

But they have been protected since the 2015 passing of guaranteed multiyears (for Autonomous 5 schools). You basically have to break team rules or do something awful to not get the next year.


I agree it's not the portal's fault, but I do think it was a common concern once they passed the "one out, one in" temporary rule where the only thing limiting a class is the 85 limit. It gives crappy coaches a ton of leeway to be crappy and try to get away with it.

Definitely think Heupel will change that. Hooker getting hurt likely lands him on a quality team and he will have a better shot at success in the NFL than Will Levis or Anthony Richardson (both likely landing on bad teams).

The flip side of the free agency. Flexibility for players leads to flexibility for teams.

Nobody has pulled anyone’s scholarship….. they are being told to get….. we have told players that they need to leave as well.

Okay. People keep acting like he’s going to get 70 players from the portal. Think some are intentionally wording it so it sounds that way from some of the Tweets I have read.

If I was a team….. I would build a stacked team at every position except qb…. Then try dropping a stud qb into the mix…. Go and dominate for the next 5 years.

I stole the joke cause we have a meeting on Wednesdays, and each week somebody gets the joke, i get it often cause im the biggest fool there, so boss puts it on a big tv screen and made me read it with an Italian accent

I told em i stole it off this dude on volnation named devinner, who thinks hes cool but wears hideous pink shirts and is so corny its funny every once in a great while

No, I know multiple specific players who were told their scholarships were being pulled at a P5 school. They are not being helped to find new schools. And it is not just Colorado
