This is one side, and what the nephrostomy tube looks like. both sides of her back look like this, and that blue tube is inserted into each kidney. They give it time, a week for her, to make sure it's going to drain, then they'll go through the tube, place stents from her kidneys to the stoma (hole in her stomach), and remove the tubes. She's hurting pretty bad, and tonight is going to be rough for her. I just hope it'll help this time.View attachment 545853

and we're waiting still . They're going to put the stents in through the tubes, but leave the tubes for about a week to make sure the stents work. If they removed them now and they didn't work, they'd have to put them back in again.

I hope, she's pretty miserable right now. Seems to be hurting worse than when they put the tubes in last week. She did take some more medicine, and is resting now.

Just pain meds, not much else they can do. I know how much a kidney stone feels, I can't imagine having tubes stuck in them.

i have low threshold for pain and that sounds awful

It is an experience you can't really describe correctly. If you've had one, and someone else gets one, you just immediately have sympathy most of the time

Yes, but for me, it hurts worse when it's moving inside my urinary tract. Idk how it is for others, but that's what makes me feel like I'm going to go be with Jesus

Nope, it's the back, stomach and nut pain getting it to the bladder. The rest happens so quick you don't notice. The back/kidney and stomach pain can go for days.

Sorry to be graphic but that is how it is.
