The crazy thing about all this is neither AB nor Nike give the first f*** about Mulvaney's identity. It's all about the 10M+ followers. Online influencers are now a part of corporate marketing strategy. This isn't the first or last instance we'll see.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out who your customer base is and see that making a tranny a spokesperson would offend most of them. You can defend "online influencers" as the future, but as of today, Bud Light really, really stepped in a mess that either way they go might just kill the brand off.
Sometimes the best to do is to remain silent.

Yes, but that's the tricky part. Their ideal situation would be to reach the influencer's audience while keeping it relatively contained. Not so easy in an information rich environment.

But if they had just kept their mouth shut and not taken a side, what would have happened to their business? Companies these days seem to think they have to become liberal and support the LGBT+ community and ignore the middle and conservatives.

That's the thing, once people hit late 20's early 30's they're pretty set on the brands they use and not much will push them off what they already like, that's what these companies are betting on. They're trying to reach the young adults who are not set on a brand. And they figure if they lose a few over their marketing the new customers will outnumber and outlive the ones they lost.

Because words like "tranny" come from the same ignorance as "f*g" or a plethora of racial slurs. There are plenty of rational arguments to make at how putting trans lifestyles on a pedestal is not beneficial to society and progress, and I'll happily hear those, but yes, if you and others like you are just going to blindly lump anyone who isn't grossed out by transgender individuals as a pedophile (or a defender of pedophiles) and demonstrate the inability to critically think your way out of a paper bag on a regular enough basis, yes I'm going to call you out for being the sundowning dumb f*** that you are.

It's a tightrope. I do not believe companies are liberal or conservative in general. I believe the goal is to be as inclusive as possible - the more folks under the umbrella, the better for the bottom line. This would go for both sales and attracting/retaining talent.

However, efforts to express or expand inclusivity include pitfalls. And this works both ways. People get upset if a company appears to be reaching out too far left or too far right. We're simply too tribal right now, so pretty much any change is going to raise some level of anger.

They deserve to live their lives un-harassed and un-molested. Just like the rest of us.

They are not entitled to special treatment. Just like the rest of us.

The WA law allows establishment of 'host homes' for your minor child to runaway to, stay, and receive 'gender affirming treatment' - including blockers, hormones, and surgery - without your consent or even knowledge of where they are.

The difference is semantical; entire school systems are already acting as 'host homes' in which your child can lead a double-life you have no inkling of. And if you find out, too bad - schools are effectively becoming TQ recruiting camps, to turn your kids.

Just exactly who is paying for this gender re-assigning surgery? I look at it the same way I do elective surgery for women to enlarge their breasts. It is elective surgery and children have no reason to elect to have it.

It sure as hell won’t be parents who’s right to know where their children are and what is being done to them will be removed. Most likely it will be local state and or federal funding, and probably alt sex and gender activist groups funded by wealthy leftists and corporate DEI shakedowns. The new laws mean healthcare providers cannot be sued by red states where gender-affirming medication and surgery are illegal if their residents travel to Colorado for care.
