We are lucky to have what we have and if Pearl is gone, then we are right back to hiring a guy from a lower tier program and hoping we hit the jackpot with him.
Yeah, because nobody would take a job making $2 mil plus at a place where making the Elite Eight would qualify you for sainthood.

Like everyone else that says this, you have absolutely no proof and no basis for this statement.

You actually think we would be able to attract a big name to this program? Be honest and like I said, look at Kentucky. They are a top tier program and they can't even get the big names to look their way. Who are we going to hire if we oust Pearl? And what basis could we possibly have for firing the guy?

"Hoo ya gunna git?" The one question that survived Fulmer's departure. It's more resilient than a cadre of cockroaches.

Who cares if it is a big name, as long as the guy can coach? Nobody starts out as a big name.

I'm not sure why the Pearlophiles/Fulmerites root for Tennessee. It's obviously a lousy athletic department that nobody would want to work for. Hell, we should just give Peal tenure and replace the School of Business with the Tanning Bed Bruce School of Bodypainting and Surreptitious Taping.

and like everyone else, you immediately run to "we shouldn't fire him." At what point did I say "fire him"

Just to be clear, I am a fan of Tennessee first -- not the coaches. I wouldn't give a rat's ass about Pearl or Kiffin if they didn't coach for Tennessee.

So who would you consider an upgrade from Pearl that isn't yet a big name?

I don't necessarily agree that we couldn't get a name. Not a Bill Self or Coach K kind of name, mind you.

I have also said on more than one occasion that if we could lure them here I would take Andy Kennedy, Bobby Gonzalez, or Herb Sendek in a heartbeat.

Where did I say we SHOULD upgrade? Are you familiar with the difference between the words could and should?

No. You're gonna have to explain that one too me. I guess your superior intellect has me all confused like.

What are you complaining about then? You're either happy with what we have, or you want to make a change. Is there really an in-between? Even if you were taking that stance, you still wouldn't be complaining. Why complain unless you are wanting a change? Maybe you can explain that to me as well as I am clearly too dense to comprehend.

We have a winner.

Seriously, if you are going to throw all that "black and white, you are just a whiner" bs at me, then I agree with the last part of your post wholeheartedly.

So no attempt whatsoever to adress my question? Just personal attacks because I happen to have a viewpoint that differs from yours. Class, buddy. Strong support of your argument there. I get you. When you can't win, resort to name calling. Or you could do the right thing and address the question I posed.

When did I call you any names? I'll remind you that I only agreed with you. Perhaps you should read my edited post for further clarification.

Is that what I said? Is that what you got from my post? Perhaps you should look in the mirror before you agree with the last part of my post in that case.

Still avoiding the question, huh? Answer the question. Why complain unless you want a change?
