3 legged stoolJust to recap:
I made a simple claim (bolded above) that I gladly stand by.
The flying down the rabbit hole was done by a bunch of nuts taking exception with my statement.
I merely stood above the rabbit hole trying to get others to climb back out.
But it's pretty much the same story repeated over and over.
I blame medical professionals in this respect as well. There’s a saying in surgery that “the existence of a surgical procedure isn’t an indication for its use.” So, just because a surgical mastectomy can be performed doesn’t mean it’s indicated in a 15yo girl who identifies as a boy. In the same way, gastric bypass/weight loss surgery should not be indicated in a 15yo who thinks she’s obese.3 legged stool

Who will be defining what meets the criteria of “unique situation”?
No need. The point is obvious, there are benefits beyond weight loss. I don't know what all of those benefits may or may not be. I'm just saying it would be stupid to make it illegal for anyone who is not fat to have the surgery.Read you own post, the bolded nonetheless, and try again.
The reasonable people from both sides of the aisle who bring in experts from all sides. You know.....the way it is supposed to work.3 legged stool

Nor have I. But I can see @Grand Vol taking the easy, comfortable, non-thinking way out.I haven't taken that step yet with anyone.
You ever consider that you’re in the rabbit hole and others are trying to lead you out? Probably not….No need. The point is obvious, there are benefits beyond weight loss. I don't know what all of those benefits may or may not be. I'm just saying it would be stupid to make it illegal for anyone who is not fat to have the surgery.
I see another rabbit hole someone is attempting to get me to chase them down.
I've wanted to post the same thing for 2 days now. I was thinking maybe they should start a different thread. LolThis is one of the most ridiculous discussions I've ever seen on this forum. What Luther is claiming isn't even remotely what is being pushed by the "progressive" lawmakers and medical professionals. I'm sure he knows that, though.
Ambiguous genitalia and sex chromosomal defects are extremely uncommon and are already handled with surgery, when indicated. This agenda literally has NOTHING to do with that.
But carry on.
Sure, it is most certainly part of the conversation. I know those of you who can only deal in absolutes are having difficulty, but keep trying to work your way through it.Not at all what is involved here, but keep spouting your nonsense.
