That would be awesome but I haven’t seen McShay or Kiper having Hooker in the first round. Hard for me to imagine 5 QBs going in the first round.

If we can make the Elite 8, I'll be happy. All those Pearl huggers with their "Pearl took us to an Elite 8 and Barnes hasn't", will have to stfu. If we make the Final Four, I'll be jubilant, and I'll tell all the Pearl huggers to suck it! If we make the championship game, I'll probably go into orgasmic shock, and if we somehow win it all, I'll probably keel over dead with a smile on my face. But we really need to win just one more game so people will shut the hell up about Bruce Pearl.

I mean there are some bad nights to every college basketball season. This year we got bit by them more than we have in the past.

Colorado was the most frustrating loss for me of the season. Was the 2nd game so no real "wear and tear" to point to. They didn't even shoot it lights out from deep. We simply didn't play good enough 2nd half defense AND we had an awful night scoring because we decided shooting 37 3s was the answer.

at Arizona = expected
vs Kentucky thought we could win that one, but shooting 14.3% from deep isn't going to do yourselves any favors.
at Florida head scratcher, but road game mid week after a huge emotional win against Texas
at Vandy and vs Mizzou honestly just some lucky breaks for them to end the game...amazing it happened
at Kentucky no Phillips or JJJ and really needed more from ZZ and Key to help pick up the slack, but didn't get it
at A&M hands down the most frustrating officiating of the season, I get that's their style of play but call it consistently at least
at Auburn first game without ZZ and they were in must-win mode, just too many things against us


The A&M game is extra frustrating when you realize they called just 6 more fouls on us than them, but somehow they shot 20 more FTs...still crazy to see a game where one team hits 4 more FGs, 5 more 3PTs and loses by 5.

When we play physical basketball as a team and have an inside presents….. things flow a lot easier on offense. JJJ can make 3s, they just need to be open shots . Santi is a lot more efficient when a post guy is making an impact. Let’s see some double posts from Uros and ON to free up the shooters. Phillips needs to slash and stop overthinking things, he holds and then overdribbles into the middle, 2 bounce and rise with the shot

How did you come to the “financially below you” conclusion? That has nothing to do with it. It’s the belief that money ruins everything eventually. We have not got to eventually yet to see the outcome. And no one was going to protest and boycott. People were just saying they don’t want college sports to end up like pro sports.

Because it is a form of jealousy for many opposed. Not for all, sure, but you'll see it seep into many opinions. Even SCOTUS commented on this view. Only wanting to watch athletes as long as they aren't making the market rate. The ones that hate to watch rich athletes, especially much younger ones. Lots of jealousy funnels into that conversation sadly.

Otherwise there's not much difference, especially with free transfers now. That will be the tool for mercernaries and they'll keep existing, just as coaches have used it for decades. But hardly anyone complained about them, because they were "professionals" in an "amateur" billion dollar sport...merely by definition

Yeah, I could see the refs having a knee jerk reaction to all the "fouling" hype in the media. There's a difference in fouling and playing physical. Hope the refs know the difference.

But Pete was a bit more efficient considering no 3s. Just not as nearly as efficient as the best college scorers of all-time. But that's all tangential.

I will say, Pete took an average of 38 shots a game while the other guy took 21. 38 shots a game!

And all of Pete's were worth 2 points, yet over 50% were attempted from today's 3 point distance. This helps show why it is more "efficient" in today's game to shoot the 3s. Will never know what his point total would be with the 3s, but it would be huge.

I have to admit, I think Bilas, Gottlieb, etc. might be on to something. I mean look at #1 for Duke here, just trying to watch a basketball game and chill, and then Olivier comes out of nowhere and just… I mean, that’s NC-17 right there. Just no respect for that man’s pride.

The research I have heard is he would have averaged 53 a game. On 38 shots a game...
